An apron made of sheep's wool is rather impractical (at least with my cooking skills): You can only wash the wool by hand... don't know if all the stains disappear... ;-)
Yes, of course. Half a centimetre always remains - I don't dare to shave all the way to the skin, blood is also so hard to wash out... ;-D
Ah yes, good points. It would certainly make the apron more colourful but it probably isn't the look you're going for. Perhaps it would work better as a waistcoat... sew up the sides, cut it down the front and hey presto! Then you could knit a cummerbund and you'll be fit for the opera 🙂
