Кілька днів тому як вже малі спали в машині то вирішили ми прогулятися на острові Хортиця.

Що каже про наш острів Хортиця Вікіпедія...

Хо́ртиця — найбільший острів на Дніпрі, розташований поблизу Запоріжжя, нижче Дніпровської ГЕС. Унікальний природний та історичний комплекс. Хортиця є одним із Семи чудес України.

На північному краю острова був останній дніпровський поріг. Хортиця витягнута із північного заходу на південний схід, має довжину 12,5 км, ширину в середньому 2,5 км і площу приблизно 3000 га. Острів до останнього часу зберігав ліси в прибережних балках, а в післявоєнні часи був заліснений лісовим господарством в північній частині, де ґрунти є піщаними. У південній частині зберігається степ з багатьма реліктовими видами рослин, які збереглися тільки на острові, але в давнину зростали на всій території півдня України. На крайньому півдні острова існують плавні.

Ось такі гарні та історичні місця ми відвідували з дівчатками.

Влітку 1843-го року 29-річний Тарас Шевченко відвідав місто Олександрівськ та острів Хортицю. ХОРТИЦЯ
Хортиця увійшла в свідомість поета як столиця волі, козацької слави, горнило національного духу, тому не дивно, що саме це місце стало для нього джерелом натхнення для творів "Гайдамаки", "Гамалія", "Іржавець" та інших, де він згадував про Хортицю та козацьку історію України.

Балка Чавунова. Ймовірне місце загибелі князя Святослава.
Навесні 972 року князь Святослав Ігоревич повертався із Візантійського походу та потрапив у засідку, яку йому влаштували печеніги, у результаті битви загинув і князь, і вся його дружина. Місце битви й загибелі князя Святослава достеменно невідомі, але під час будівництва ДніпроГЕСу було знайдено п'ять мечів Х ст., які могли бути пов'язані із битвою. А у листопаді 2011 року рибалка підняв з дна Дніпра
ще один такий меч інкрустований міддю, латунню та сріблом та мав унікальне тавро майстерні ULFBERHT. Такі мечі могли мати лише люди високого походження, цілком можливо, що він належав комусь із найближчого оточення князя або й безпосередньо йому. Ці знахідки свідчать про те, що останній бій Святослава Хороброго відбувся на Хортиці або біля острова.

Води в річці Дніпро теж було раніше набагато більше. Поки 6 червня 2023 року, росіяни не підірвали Каховську ГЕС😔

Такий парк на Острові Хортиця знаходиться біля музею. Нажаль музей зараз не працює, сподіваємось що як Україна переможе його відчинять, але поки що маємо що маємо.

Також біля музею знайшли стелу пам'яті на честь українських воїнів. Спочатку я думала що ця стела лише з однієї сторони, але нажаль... Навіть на острові нагадають якою ціною острів Хортиця та місто Запоріжжя все ще є Україною.

Khortytsia is the largest island on the Dnieper, located near Zaporizhzhia, below the Dnieper Hydroelectric Power Plant. A unique natural and historical complex. Khortytsia is one of the Seven Wonders of Ukraine.

Khortytsia is elongated from northwest to southeast, has a length of 12.5 km, an average width of 2.5 km and an area of approximately 3000 hectares. The island until recently retained forests in the coastal ridges, and in the post-war period it was afforested by forestry in the northern part, where the soils are sandy. In the southern part, a steppe with many relict plant species that have survived only on the island, but in ancient times grew throughout the territory of southern Ukraine, is preserved. In the extreme south of the island there are marshes.

Such swords could only be owned by people of high origin, it is quite possible that it belonged to someone from the prince's closest circle or to him directly. These finds indicate that the last battle of Svyatoslav the Brave took place on Khortytsia or near the island.

There was also much more water in the Dnieper River before. Until June 6, 2023, the Russians blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station😔

Such a park on Khortytsia Island is located near the museum. Unfortunately, the museum is not working now, we hope that when Ukraine wins it will be opened, but for now we have what we have.

Also near the museum, they found a memorial stele in honor of Ukrainian soldiers. At first, I thought this stele was only on one side, but alas... Even on the island, they remind us at what cost the island of Khortytsia and the city of Zaporizhzhia are still Ukraine.
