Contest: Education is the key

Greetings my lovely steemians, I am writing on this very post about the problems I face as a student of the university of uyo. Much appreciation goes to the contest organiser for bringing this up as a case study.

Here in my country Nigeria we face diverse issues and problems as students. Mostly in government owned schools, starting from nursery to tertiary. In most states the issue of education is considerate and okay while others are very poor.
After being admitted into the university of uyo, I have faced some major and minor issues as a student. I will be dealing with the problems one after the other.

Firstly the problem of;
Peer pressure peer pressure seems to be a major issue faced by the students in the university level here in my country. You will see a God fearing child misbehaving after making certain friends in school. The school serves as a place of bad influence because most pressures are from bad companies.

Tuition fees and other school expenses
The tution fees asked to be paid by the students is gradually increasing. We all know before most parent send their wards to the government school, they believe it's something they can handle but with the situation now so many students are dropping out.
Other expenses like making expenses textbooks compulsory and other money related expenses. Most of the lecturers make it so mandatory for students to pay sorting fee inorder to pass them.

Lack of proper school infrastructures
Our school here in Nigeria needs proper school facilities to aid learning. I think learning sticks to the brain when it's based on practical, so the government really need to equip the laboratories with essential facilities and also help with other recreational facilities.

The problem of cultism
The university is a place where so many with different mindset comes in, most of them aren't there till learn but to create chaos and issues for students. I can remember when 3 cultists from one certain confraternity beat me up in the university saying my wear is their colour. It was really a threat most students would have been so afraid to continue.

Transportation issues
This is really a major problem affecting students currently. The issue of fuel price has really affected the cost of transportation making it unbearable for students, I myself spend alot in a day just to transport myself to school.

Repeating schemes
The university serves as the best place for repeating schemes and sane notes for years. Things are changing everyday but we still focus on the same plan our forefathers used. It's not looking promising at all.

Solution to the problem
The government should try to hear us out because we are truly the leaders of tomorrow, we need proper lectures and things should be made easy for the students. We know the cost of ignorance is more high than education but we still need help. The problems I mentioned above should be tackled properly thanks alot.
