RE: Alternative Weekend: Unconvincing Artists

I can't say I've listened to much My Bloody Valentine although I was aware of them. It's the sort of thing John Peel would play, but I didn't listen to him that much. I was more into Annie Nightingale and Tommy Vance in my late teens, but this would have been a bit later. I think there are periods of music I skipped whilst listening to my Genesis and Pink Floyd albums.

The Strokes were okay, but I just heard the singles.

I've heard of Riverside, but not listened to any albums. I used to listen to some prog podcasts a few years back and they probably got played on those.

I'll have a hunt through my collection and see what I can come up with.

BTW Some of these would play direct from this page in Steempeak, but I looked them up on Youtube.

I should have listened to and watched more whistle test in those days. The last ten years have had me enter this weird phase and into strange bands.

The playback issues appear to be browser related. They all work using good old internet explorer and steemit. Not that anyone uses that combo anymore!

I don't listen to much radio these days, but there is some good stuff on 6 Music. Bugger all on TV apart from BBC4. The internet is my main source of new music now. I just don't find time to listen to much new stuff.

I'm using Brave which may block some stuff.

I do like those specials on BBC4 late at night. Occasionally I hear something new too, an added bonus!

There's one on Slipknot tonight. I may watch on catchup as I'm knackered tonight. Had a late night at a gig on Wednesday.
