KOPIAH MEUKEUTOP This traditional Acehnese what is usually used as a complement to the traditional clothes worn by men. Used during traditional ceremonies and other ceremonies.

Most people often see this hat worn by the groom when side by side on the aisle of the wedding party, even now it has been bought and sold and we often encounter it in the souvenir market.

The meukeutop kupiah is made of red and yellow cloth. The fabrics are knitted together, in the form of a circle. The bottom edge of the kupiah has a woven motif combined with black, green, red and yellow colors. There is a similar weave in the middle, which is bordered by a circle of green cloth above and black cloth below.

Kupiah meukeutop for the people of Aceh is not only valuable in terms of customs, but also full of historical value. Historically, the meukeutop kupiah was identified with the oversized hat that was often worn by Teuku Umar, a national hero from Aceh.
