The Zero Point Where It All Starts - Spain's Geographical Jewel | 10% beneficiary to @beautycreativity
Hello Beauty of Creativity Friends
Today I would like to tell you about a stone that has cultural significance for Spain.
When we say milestone, many of us think of an important point that has been reached, achieved and should be emphasized while doing a job. However, the history of the milestone dates back to ancient Rome.
During my visit to Madrid, the capital of Spain, in 2018, I came across a very interesting event. In Puerta del Sol/Sol Square, both locals and many tourists had lined up to take a photo of a stone on the ground.
When I went to them out of curiosity, I learned that this stone on the ground was of geographical importance for Spain, after doing my research. Along with the "Kilometer Zero" stone marking the geographical center of Spain, it also determines the Zero Kilometer point, the point in Spain from which distances are measured.
In particular, it is the starting point for measuring the distances of the country's six national roads, from the A-1 to the A-6, and is also the starting point of Madrid's numbered streets. The closer the streets are to this 0 kilometer mark, the lower the street number they get.
There is a legend circulating among the people that you will return to Madrid, especially if you press the plate.
I hope this legend is true.
I will be looking forward to going to Madrid again with excitement.
Thank you for visiting my post 💕
