The Rich Acehnese's Spices
This time I am delighted to pick the spices as the theme. These spices are best known as food flavors which have been around for centuries and are one of the reliable commodity resources. It is a substance made from plants, seeds, fruit, root, bark, or other plant substance used to give flavoring or coloring food. Aceh's spice has been known since the era of the Aceh Darussalam Kingdom and the Samudera Pasai Kingdom, the Aceh province flourished in spice trading. This history is expected to serve as a spirit to strengthen the spice trade sector from Aceh, such as coffee, patchouli, nutmeg, and cloves to international markets. At that time, spices were not only a valuable commodity but also a bridge to build bilateral relations with other kingdoms. Turkish representatives also once visited Aceh.
