Native Grassland : Dragonfly on Twig
Dragonfly is one of the insects that have main body segments and six legs to help them fly and to support their movement. Despite having six legs, the dragonflies do not use those to walk, but it is used to hold onto foliage during rest, and grasp prey. The reason why dragonfly is different from other insects are their eyes, wings, speed during flight and this insect has good eyes to detect the threatening objects that may harm them. I found this dragonfly somewhere in back yard. As I usually do in afternoon time, hunting the insect in the bush or places where they might possibly be. It was steady when I shot its look, tried to get its shape as good possible. Dragonflies dont simply hunt down their prey but they snag from the air or the high ground for the ambush. With incredibly sharp mandibles, dragonflies can simply knock down the preys. Thus, the dragonflies are kind of unique insects that always draw us to discover them
