The Diary Game 16.01.24 : Cyclone Belal is finally away from our Island!
Hello beautiful people of Recreative Steem! Hope you are all doing fine!
Here we are...Cyclone Belal is gone and today we woke up with a better weather than the past days, specially yesterday.
Yesterday was chaos, and you can read my post on this incident the blog I wrote last night!
Things were better today, and we were all confined until mid day. The main reasons for this confinement were the safety of the population until the cyclone is gone away and for the authorities to clear all roads around the country before economic activities can open.
Check out the damages caused near my house...
We were not hit that much in my region, but still we felt strong winds over 100Km/hr and heavy rainfalls!
By mid day, I went outside to see the damages caused by the cyclone...
Fallen branches, Banana plants shattered...
This big tree is just next to my house!
Partly blue sky and a shy sun blocked by light clouds...
The winds gradually reduced during the day and by mid day it was very calm.
I finally saw the sun, which was little shy to show off, partly cloudy but I was so happy to see some blue sky after many days!
Spent the day at home with the family!
As we were confined, we stayed late at bed this morning and spent the day like lazy!!!
And much fun with the kids + some delicious foods of course!
Disaster for the country and will take time to get back to normal and recover!
I won't get back to the bad things that happened yesterday and just hope everything get back to normal soon.
We are only at the start of the cyclonic season in Mauritius...the authorities need to wake up right now and get things done to avoid future catastrophes.
Here we are a little from my side after the cyclone in Mauritius!
Tomorrow there won't be school for the kids but me I will be at work at around 9.30am.

God is good and has protected them, a cyclone is not just anything, they are doing well in spite of the damage that, judging by the photos, caused in the vegetation, which has been so benevolent to combat the force of the winds. Exquisite food and games with the children, innocent to the things that are lived. Stay well and all of you there.
