Nutritious Foods for the Month of July

Dear Diary

Today is July 28, and we are celebrating Nutrition Month in our school for the whole month. There are 4 days left before we leave this month, so we take this chance to have nutritious snacks for all.

I let my pupils bring nutritious foods for the snacks today, it may be fruits or any for as long as it is good. They can bring for themselves or they can bring something to share. I displayed their fruits first on table I provided. Someone brought a loaf of bread, fruits, and a sweet potato.

When the snacks time is approaching I arrange the little foods on the table. When it is time for recess, I let them pray in unison for the blessing of the food. Then I let them choose what they want to eat. I told them to only get enough for them so that everyone can fairly eat and have their part.

While they started to approach the table, I observed how they control their foods. I always reminded them to only get what they can finish. Some children bought pack lunch with rice. I told them to enjoy their food and do not get in hurry. Our snacks time is supposedly 10 minutes, but I gave them time to enjoy the food they bring and they shared for everyone.

When I observed that everyone is finished eating, I called them to clean their things and area so we can proceed to our next lesson. I asked them if they are ok or full, and I am happy that they are.
