This afternoon the sky looked soft decorated with orange color that slowly crept to the western horizon. I took advantage of this moment to enjoy time with my beloved little family. I chose one of my family's favorite places around Simpang Rangkaya, a simple place but offering a taste and atmosphere that always makes me miss it and want to come back.

My family's menu of choice this time is durian es teler and gatok meatball noodles typical of Simpang Rangkaya. These two menus are like a complete package and for us every time we want to refresh ourselves in the afternoon. Healthy durian es teler with abundant pieces of fruit and the distinctive aroma of durian really pampers the tongue. My little daughter looked very happy enjoying the cold bowl of es teler. Occasionally she smiled broadly, occasionally chuckled while sipping the ice that had melted slowly

Soon a bowl of meatball noodles arrived with warm broth, chewy meatballs and soft noodles. Our family ate together leisurely at a food stall on the edge of the rice field while enjoying the refreshing breeze. The atmosphere around was so peaceful. On one side, there was a stretch of rice fields, and on the other side, the traffic on the access road around the Rangkaya intersection was quite busy but still orderly. The sound of motorbikes was occasionally heard, but it did not bother us, instead it added to the impression of a lively but calm village atmosphere.

Moments like this may seem simple but for me and my wife this is true happiness. Togetherness with family, the cheerful smiles of children and the natural atmosphere that blends with everyday life are priceless. I don't need luxury and just with time together and my family's favorite food, the day feels so complete.

This afternoon, my little family and I were happy, full stomachs and souls that felt calmer. However, this meal was not too expensive and the price was very affordable and one portion of durian ice teller was IDR 25,000 and a bowl of gatok meatball noodles was IDR 35,000, so the total I spent while enjoying the afternoon with my family was only IDR 60,000.
