Actsofkindness: Working together to clean the public cemetery

As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, people in various regions have a tradition of cleaning the environment, including public cemeteries. Today, I and the local residents participated in mutual cooperation to clean the surface as a form of respect for the ancestors who have preceded us.

Since morning, residents began to gather in the cemetery area, bringing equipment such as hoes, sickles, brooms and sacks to collect garbage. The activity began with a joint prayer, asking for smoothness during the mutual cooperation and blessings in welcoming the month of Ramadan. After that we started working according to our respective tasks.

Some residents are tasked with cleaning wild grass and weeds growing around the graves, while others sweep dry leaves and collect trash. There are also those who tidy up the tombstones and prepare a place for families who want to make a pilgrimage in a more comfortable atmosphere. Everyone works with enthusiasm, reflecting the values of togetherness and strong social concern.

In between activities, the atmosphere felt warm with jokes and stories shared between residents. This mutual cooperation was not only about cleaning the cemetery, but also an event to strengthen the relationship between fellow citizens.

After several hours of work, the results began to appear. The cemetery that was previously filled with swmaka and dry leaves now looked cleaner and tidier. We ended the activity by reading the tahlil prayer together for the grave experts, hoping that they would get the best place in the sight of Allah SWT.

This activity is a reminder for all of us that in addition to cleaning the environment, the holy month of Ramadan is also a time to cleanse the heart, improve relationships with others and increase our worship. May this togetherness continue to be established, and the spirit of mutual cooperation remains alive in society.

With the completion of this activity, we returned home with a light heart and full of gratitude. May this year's Ramadan bring blessings and peace to all of us.
