Woman, source of inspiration and courage
Introduction |
---|
Hi friends, welcome to my blog. Before I begin, I dedicate this poem to all the women.
I am a woman
I am strong and courageous
I am fearless
I am a shining star
I have no room for dark moment
My strength lies in my thoughts and actions
I am the best version of myself
I rise above all fears
I rise above intimidations
I am blessed to be a woman
What are the qualities of a woman that inspire in you a sense of admiration and a desire to be better? |
---|
I admire a lot of things that inspire me in women. I grew up in a society where women have no voice, where men dominate over women. But as I grew up, I met, read and heard about great women who break barriers and rule their world. The likes of women in my country, Nigeria, like Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, who is the chairperson of the World Trade Organisation, Dr Dora Akunyili, who was a former DG of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, and many more women dead and alive have inspired me so much.
They are intelligent and very educated.
Bold and outspoken
Undaunted and beautiful
Strong, vibrant and energetic
Hard-working, diligent and dedicated
Resilient and thoughtful
Responsible and trustworthy
They are humble and courageous.
Spirited and visionary
Respectful
String-willed and unfeigned
I believe these qualities and more made them stand out to occupy such powerful positions in a men-dominated world as we are. Studying these women gave me the strength that I could be better despite being born into a male-dominated society where women are relegated to servicing the home and being caregivers.
I am not where I ought to be, but I have a voice that no one can silence. I am bold and resilient, I am hard-working and diligent. I know I can be better, more successful and fulfilled than I am today.
How do you think a woman's dedication and sacrifice affects the people around her? |
---|
The sacrifice of women is truly felt by people because she touches the heart, because her dedication and sacrifice is wholehearted. She sacrifices her time to care for her family, she gives her all to achieve her goals. She sacrifices to see others succeed. Her dedication is a source of strength and encouragement for others to emulate.
Do you know any stories of women that have left their mark on you and made you question your own perception of strength and goodness? |
---|
Yes, my mother is one of those women who has had a great impact on me. She is my source of strength and courage that encourages me to be better. Despite being born into a polygamous home, given to teenage marriage and badly treated in the marriage, she strives to be better. She works very hard despite the fact that she is going through severe pain.
Most times, I wonder where her strength lies, that she can work so hard not minding her pain. She gives and forgives easily. That makes me wonder how she feels, how large her heart is. She inspires me to work hard and to forgive people. Through her counsel, I have become a better person and manage my home better as well. She's my role model.
Share them with us. How can a woman be a beacon of hope for the world? |
---|
A woman can become a beacon of hope despite her background, society, skin colour and even religion. Of course, we all know that success has none of those mentioned above, and so, a woman can rise above them all.
A woman can be a beacon of hope by helping others rise through her counsel, courage and inspiration.
She can be a beacon of hope by giving support to others
She can be a beacon of hope by inspiring people to get better through hard work and dedication.
She can be a beacon of hope through her compassion and empathy towards others.
By her selflessness and kindness to others
By promoting positive behaviour and being a role model for others to follow
If you had the opportunity to thank a woman in your life, what words would you choose to express what she has meant to you? |
---|
Again, I dedicate this poem to thanking the women who have inspired me.
