From Assistant to Ambassador | My Path to Personal Development
Hello, everyone! I'm thrilled to join and honored to be part of this supportive community, where we can express our self, uplift, inspire and motivate each other. Actually, it's my first time to post here in Recreative Steem Community and I'm excited to share my own story, learn from yours and grow together in a safe, non-judgemental space. Today, allow me to share my journey of self-discovery and growth.
As I sit in silence, reflecting on my journey as a dental assistant, I am reminded of the countless moments that have shaped me into the person I am today. It's hard to believe it's been nearly a decade since I first started working at Dr. Ana Solon-Augusto Dental Clinic, located in the heart of Mactan Marina Mall, Ibo Lapulapu City, Cebu, Philippines.
As the sole staff member in the clinic, my role is multifaceted and demanding. I am more than just a dental assistant. I am a caretaker, confidante, and a constant presence in the lives of our patients. My day-to-day responsibilities include assisting the dentist with patients, preparing the working area, sterilizing instruments, managing patients records, and handling administrative tasks such as verifying insurances, have it approve to different Health Maintenance Organization, and encoding bills. I also take calls, attend to patient's needs, and ensure the clinic is spotless. These are testament to my dedication and perseverance. From assisting the dentist with patient to managing the clinic's administrative tasks, every moment is an opportunity for me to grow and learn.
There are times when the workload feels overwhelming, and I doubted my ability to keep going. The commute from home can be exhausting, taking around almost an hour each way, the pressure to perform, and the fear of making mistakes all took their toll on me. Moreover, my boss has high standards, which can be intimidating at times. But, it was in those moments of uncertainty that I discovered the true depths of my faith.
The words of James 1:2-3 have been my guiding light, my source of comfort, and my reminder that I am not alone:
"Consider it pure joy my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."
As I navigate the complexities of my role, I am constantly reminded of the people who matter most in my life - my family. As a mother and a wife, I'm reminded that my role extends beyond the clinic. I strive to be a good example to my family, to demonstrate the value of perseverance, hard work, and faith. Despite the demands of my job, I'm committed to providing for my loved ones and creating a better future for them.
As I look back on my journey as a dental assistant, I'm filled with gratitude for the opportunities I've had, the lessons I've learned, and the people who have supported me along the way. I'm thankful for my faith, which has been my rock during difficult times, my shelter and my guiding light. I'm also grateful for my family, who have loved me unconditionally and supported me every step of the way.
My journey as a dental assistant has been a humbling, challenging, and rewarding experience. Through the ups and downs, I've learned to persevere, to trust in my abilities, and to rely on my faith. I hope that my story can inspire others to stay committed to their passions, even when the road ahead seems uncertain.
