Acts of Animal Kindness in Your Daily Life | by nsijoro

Raising rabbits for many years has left me with so many experiences, from curing my rabbits from pox using pox proline to tackling a slow and steady, deadly, and insidious bacteria disease (coccidiosis). Some experiences would have made me give up, especially when I reflected on how the first caretaker of this pet before it became mine was unable to raise up to four rabbits in the hutch for about 6 months. Apart from her children's Lassie affries attitude in caring for the rabbits, she had no personal time for them as a proprietress; her workload didn't give her much time for this. I wouldn't blame the children anyways; they are young and need instructions to know more about rabbits.

Do I need to repeat that I love rabbits? This could be seen clearly by my actions; every day has always been hectic, and though it was, I sacrificed my time to check up on these rabbits for the first time, definitely the first time I really needed to see how they were faring. We all dispersed to our homes after the charity program where we distributed food for kids in Nigerian nursery schools. I promise to check up on these rabbits. As proposed, I followed Sir @benton3 home, and when I got there, we went straight to the hutch.

What I needed to do was to confirm their pregnancy. In the course of raising rabbits, I have experienced false pregnancy, stillbirth, and double pregnancy. You might be very surprised with double pregnancy, but that's a talk for another day—nothing ambiguous, though.

The act of animal kindness is what I am doing; the happiness felt by the doe while anticipating her litters is what I want to revive here. @benton3 hutch houses 3 does and a buck, and they have all been crossed, but a mind-bothering question is churning within him: "It's over 30 days, and why have my rabbits not given birth?" I discovered after palpating the three does that only one was pregnant; my pregnancy diagnosis is 80% accurate, not perfect, but from experience I have seen cases like this, anticipating a birth after a month and then seeing no sign of delivery from the expected rabbits.

I made some suggestion on the feeds and supplement to be added to their meals to improve performance and I will be waiting for some feedback and we are expecting one of the rabbits to give birth, the rabbits were introduced to new leaves with more nutritional content and I am sure this will be effective on their performance as well. @okere-blessing How is your bulldog's health?

It's my earnest pleasure to see friends like @faires, @bossj23, and @johnmitchel join in this contest. It's a season of love; show love to your pets.
