Today I will talk about the Asian black bear which is almost extinct from Bangladesh. Bears are no longer seen in animal sanctuaries. A few bear cubs are also in zoos (I am against keeping animals in zoos and exhibiting them). Animal cages in zoos disrupt the normal life of animals. I thank the @steem.ofanimals community (my country's protected animals) for organizing the title series.

The black bear is one of the two species of bears found in Bangladesh. There was a time when they were seen in the forests of Sylhet region but now they are not seen. Bear skins, fur, nails, teeth, are very expensive due to which hunters target them, but in 2012 there was a law to protect this animal, but now this animal is not seen in the forest and the forest department cannot provide accurate information about it.

Due to many reasons, the forest is being cut down and the bear is being exterminated from Bangladesh. Many believe that habitat loss is a major cause and food shortage is another reason for this animal's extinction. Also, humans do not interact positively with wild animals, resulting in animals being afraid of humans. Many others are involved in poaching and trafficking of these animals as a result of which the animals are on the verge of extinction today.

Honey is the main food in the bear's diet. They climb trees and eat honey from beehives. Their body hair is so dense that bees cannot sting. Bears also eat lizard-like reptiles and eat the ripe fruits of trees. It is the duty of humans to save animals and create safe havens to sustain biodiversity.

Bangladesh's bear conservation legislation was enacted in 2012 but it was too late as the number of bears has declined drastically. Edge animals were considered critically endangered in 2012. Now bears are no longer seen in wild forests, there are some reserves to go to zoos or safari parks to see bears.

We grew up reading the story of the two friends and the bear where the bear sees one friend climbing a tree and the other lying down pretending to be dead. And now the bear is an endangered animal as a result of the selfish activities of man.
