This is my story where Sorry saved the situation
A creative story where this word sorry was used and show how valuable it was to you in that situation and the lessons learned
We've all done something we aren't proud of; I mean, who hasn't?
And when this happens, what's the next thing that goes in our minds, to apologize?
But does sorry really clear all wrongs and make everything right?
The moment where I had to use Sorry happened early last year during my sister's wedding. We were each given a specific task to do so the work is easy on everyone.
My work was to make some orders, get the Hall and DJ ready for the event. Now, I run a hair business alongside my 9-5 everyday, and was desperately looking for money to stock up my business.
In my mind, I had made a good calculations that if I use the money, get some hairs to sell for the season, that I would be able to make back the money and sort these people.
Once I had this plan in mind I took actions. I didn't tell anyone about what I was planning, maybe they could have spoken sense I to me or we could have found another solution.
Nonetheless, I placed the orders for the hairs respecting it to enter at least in one week, resell to my customers, get the money back and pocket the profit.
One week passed, nothing was delivered. Second week, still nothing. I began to panic when it was the third week and nothing was delivered.
My expectations was dashed when what I bought was yet to be delivered
I called my distributor, she told me it had left the company and has already been delivered, so what could be the issue?
It was during the third week when my Mom asked me why I had not done what I was told to do, that I opened up and explained to her what happened.
She was very livid and disappointed with me. To take such decisions made me look selfish even though I might have had the best intentions in mind.
At that point, the only thing I could say was sorry, but those sorry clean everything.
What could you have done to avoid that situation that led to using that word.
I could have made a proper plan about my business, ask for loans from my siblings instead of using money that has been set aside for an event to stock up my business.
I could have just reposted on my status, get my customers to pay for the hair if their choice, then order it for them.
In the end, the damage had already been done, My Mom lost trust in me, and we had source for funds again to pay for the hall and DJ.
It took a while but thank God, the event went off without a hitch in the end.
I invite @stevographix, @princessck, and @geegirl to also take part in this contest.
Thanks for the invitation
What a touching story! You must have felt that the ground should open for you to go in isn't it? Well, the best is that you acknowledged that you were wrong and also apologised even when it didn't sold the problem, at least, the money was sourced and the event done. It is a story we can all learn from. Thank you for sharing. Sorry made a little difference though.
