šŸµļøTHE DIARY GAME šŸµļø

Morning

It was Friday. I woke up at Fajr time for prayers. After finishing the prayers, I came back home and went back to sleep. Since today was the weekly holiday, schools and colleges were closed. I woke up again around eight in the morning.

After getting up, my brother said he would go to Uttara to get the car fixed. A new microbus had been bought a few months ago, but due to regular use, it had gotten scratched in several places, and the paint had come off. So, without wasting time, I started getting ready to take the car. After taking a shower, I got fully ready and went out because I didn’t know how long it would take to return. Also, since it was Jummah today, I would have to offer the prayer outside. Taking all necessary preparations, my brother and I headed out.

Our first destination was my brother’s friend’s house. He lives in the Mirpur 12 residential area. He is a very popular content creator. My brother has been friends with him for a long time, so he knows me quite well too. When we reached his house, we saw a very beautiful environment. Especially since it’s a government residential area, the surroundings are beautifully arranged. It’s really enjoyable to see such an environment. My brother also wants to get a house here, but the condition is that you need to have connections with government employees or officials to get one. Since we don’t have any such acquaintances, it’s not possible for us to get a place there.

After leaving my brother’s friend’s house, we headed toward the car garage. We had thought that maybe the repairs would cost around 10 to 15 thousand taka. But when we showed the car to them, they informed us that it would cost 30 thousand taka to fix it. We hadn’t expected that at all. Since Eid-ul-Adha was only a few days away and we would have to travel home, it was very important to get the car fixed.

After a lot of discussion and requests, we managed to negotiate the price down a bit. Finally, they agreed to complete all the work for 24 thousand taka. Without further argument, we agreed, as we felt there was trustworthiness here. Even though they charged more, we knew we wouldn’t have to worry.

Nearby, we could see the other cars being washed beautifully in the garage. We observed for a while and saw that they worked very carefully, which proved their dedication. They were very sincere. Then we went inside their office and began discussions. During the discussion, they brought us tea. We all sat together and had tea. After finishing the tea, we decided to have lunch at a nearby restaurant and then offer the Jummah prayer at a nearby mosque.

Afternoon

As planned, we checked Google Maps to see where there was a good restaurant nearby. We saw that a bit further away, in Banani, there was a Star Kabab restaurant. Star Kabab is known for its high-quality food, and I had eaten there a few times before.

So, following the plan, we headed toward Star Kabab. When we arrived, we realized it was almost time for the Zuhr prayer. From there, we went to the nearby Banani Mosque to offer the Jummah prayer. The mosque was very large, a seven-story building. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find space anywhere inside. We had to climb up to the seventh floor on foot, which left us quite exhausted. After finishing the prayer, we stood outside waiting because my brother was delayed. After a little while, we saw him coming out of the mosque. It felt really nice to witness such a united gathering of Muslims.

After that, we went to Star Kabab for lunch. First, we ordered white rice with lentils and mutton. We didn’t forget to order their famous mutton rezala as well. The decoration of Star Kabab is really nice—anyone who visits would like it. After finishing our meal, we sat for a while.

After a heavy lunch, it doesn’t feel good without a bit of rest. So, we stayed there chatting. In the meantime, we ordered their famous milk tea. The tea tasted really good. After finishing everything, we finally left.

Evening

After leaving Banani, we headed back to Uttara. We wanted to ride the metro rail today. On Fridays, the metro rail service is closed until 3 p.m. and starts operating after that.

IMG_20250502_153814.jpgIMG_20250502_153818.jpg

By the time we arrived, it was already afternoon. At the metro station, we saw quite a crowd at the ticket counters. The Uttara metro rail had just started running. We stood in line and bought our tickets. After getting the tickets, we went upstairs and waited for the train to depart. After waiting for about five minutes, the metro train arrived to begin its journey.

As soon as the doors opened, we entered the metro. On regular days, it’s usually hard to even find standing space on the train. But today, since we boarded at the starting station, there were empty seats. We were able to sit comfortably and return home by metro.

For the entire day, our total expenses were:
Reasons for spending
BDT
Steem
Car repair
24000
1358.12
Lunch
1,500
84.88
Tea
150
8.4
Metro tickets
80
4.5
Rickshaw fare

All in all, it was a busy day from morning to evening. From running errands and having lunch at Star Kabab to enjoying an evening metro ride, it turned out to be a really wonderful day. We truly enjoyed this weekly holiday to the fullest.
