Sorry, a small word, but its depth is huge. Although we use the word sorry constantly, in special situations, this word works like an antibiotic medicine. I got the real proof of that during a trip last year.
Last year, three of us friends went from the capital, Dhaka, to the Sariyatpur district for a special work. We had a cooperative society; the cashier of that society stole a lot of money and ran away. To find him, we went to his village house in Sariyatpur. We reached the bus stand of Sariyatpur at 8 pm. From there, we took a CNG and left for his village house.
The people of the village usually fall asleep early. The road is also empty. Our car moves forward quickly. We could not find our dishonest friend at his house. The people of the house did not help us either. It is eleven o'clock at night. There is no car to return to Dhaka at this time of night. On top of that, we have traveled far into the village, and we could not find a way to return to the city from here. The road is also completely unfamiliar. Wherever I look, I see nothing but darkness. I could not even find anyone to ask for help to go to the city. The danger does not end here; we have heard that robberies often happen here, murders are a regular occurrence here. Seeing danger after danger all around us, I suddenly became desperate. I could not even understand whether to go forward or backward. After staying like this for some time, We found a man. We told him about our problem. He felt pity, and after a while, he tried to arrange a car. We reached the Shariatpur bus stand in that car.
I was relieved of a lot of worries after reaching the city area. I was also feeling annoyed that the mission I had come so far for had failed. On top of that, I had to face various inconveniences. It was 12 o'clock at night. We entered a restaurant for dinner. There we had dinner with bread, vegetables and beef. My colleague went to pay the bill. Some customers were standing there waiting to pay the bill.
Meanwhile, the two of us were sitting and discussing the next step. Suddenly, I heard the sound of an argument and saw that my friend was arguing with the cashier. We both went forward. When I went there, I saw both of them talking heatedly. The shopkeeper said that he had not paid me, but the customer claimed that he had given me 1000 taka.
On the other hand, my friend said that he had given the money to the shopkeeper, but he denied it.
The night is getting late, even small talk can be heard. And here and there is loud shouting. Seeing the hint of a fight, a few more people gathered. Everyone started speaking in favor of the shopkeepers.
Some of them also started speaking in our favor. Here, two parties were formed besides us.
We realized that danger was waiting for us. I tried to silence my friend. But he was unwilling to listen to anything. The situation took a turn for the worse. A few people tried to stop us.
On the other hand, those who were in support of us also continued to protest strongly.
At that time, one of their people picked up a 1000 taka note from the ground. This time they said, "Did you give this money?" My friend agreed. He put the money on the cash counter and the air threw it down. Which no one saw. All those who had wanted to attack us all this time now started saying sorry one by one. They expressed their regret for their behavior.
We three friends forgave them. But those who were supporting us could not accept this apology. They tried to get even more excited. Seeing that the situation was getting chaotic again, all three of us went forward. We said sorry to our supporters. We tried to calm them down by saying, "We made a mistake, you guys, calm down." After requesting them several times, they calmed down. The situation became normal. We were saved from a big fight. With our flexible attitude and the valuable word ‘Sorry”, we admitted that we made a mistake, even though it was not our fault,t and said sorry. I was saved from a fight.

Ciao @Shahid76 , i read your story with pleasure and the first thing I have to say is "so lucky man !", I guess it wouldn't have ended well!
You also said another very important thing that is to admit your mistakes and apologize, this is a great teaching that you can give to everyone and I thank you for having done it.
