Food challenge: Kaboob and Pahuevo (Roasted potatoes and eggs)
I missed this entry on @karianaporras learning challenge for last week. I truly prepared this food with love, waiting to make the entry but there was no time at all for me. But I decided too post it after all. It is a very wonderful and delicious experience for me. I have had the opportunity to prepare outdoor foods and make the fire when I was small. Then, I was in rice farm, manually chasing birds away from the farm. That was the practice then and even now. For a whole month or more, one can be in the farm, leave early and return very late when the birds have gone to sleep and go out before birds wake up. Then, we make our food outdoors,Ake our fire. It was fun then.
So this challenge has reminded me of those past days. Like the instructions said, listing all the ingredients. I had to go to the market to get the ingredients ready. It was a bit of a challenge to get all the ingredients that at some point, I almost bought ingredients for the 3 meals because getting everything for a particular meal was difficult.
Well, thankfully, I was able to prepare kaboob and Pahuevo.
Ingredients for kaboob
Beef
Bell pepper
Onions
Spices
Salt
Dry pepper
Ginger and garlic
Then sticks

Then, I washed and cut the beef in small sizes, spiced up with ginger and garlic, salt, dry pepper, spices and allowed to rest for 30 minutes so that the ingredients can penetrate. Then. I cut the bell peppers (green and yellow) and onions and put them all on the sticks as you can see below

Then, made fire outside in my garden. I dug a hole and made the fire since I didn't have charcoal, I had to burn some firewoods to be able to get enough ember. Then I brought stones close and used sticks around to place them in a way that the stick meat can be placed without falling as you can see in the pictures below

There was breeze that blew the fire here and there and as such, I was busy using little water to put off the fire since I didn't want direct fire but just the ember. I also turned the meat constantly to ensure all parts are properly done. Finally, it was ready after some time. The pictures are here below

That aside, I quickly started roasting the potatoes which I had also prepared and gotten ready. You may want to know how I did it. Well, the ingredients are here below
Potato (3 ) pieces
Egg 3
Salt to taste
Aluminium foil
I thoroughly washed the potatoes, cut it open as though it has a cover. One side was bigger than the other. Then I bored a hole in the bigger one, cracked the egg into a bowel and add salt to taste. Turn it well and poured in all the holes of the 3 potatoes and then covered it with the other part. I foiled them separately. Then foiled the pieces that I cut out from the holes in another foil. Then since the ember was still hot, I placed all the potatoes directly in the ember and fanned the ember to ensure it is roasting the potatoes. I also turned constantly to ensure all it's parts roasts well. I used the fork to poke to check if it was ready. After like an hour, thirty minutes, it was ready and I foiled them. The pictures below explain it all.

Then, I unwrapped them all and presented them in a plate. Then took a selfie with it as you can see below

That's the challenge. I was so happy that I prepared these and they were really tasty and suitable for outdoors. I have never seen where potatoes are roasted with egg inside. This is my first experience and I really love the taste. Thanks to our dear teacher karianaporras for teaching this. I truly appreciate. My family and I enjoyed these meals together and they served as dinner for us.
This is my introductory post here
