The Diary Game || 11-2-24 || Attending a broadcast, photographing and battling with network glitch
Dear Diary,
It was a sunny Sunday morning. I took pleasure in mental rehabilitation by training my mind to coordinate my behaviour. The day was just as hot as the name implies, Sun Day. My day went well no doubt. It was spirit filled and filled with creativity as I took to photographing and capturing every moment entailed. It didn't end well because my country lost a cup to another country. Anyways, this is the least of my problems right now. Let me give you the narrative.
Morning Activities |

It is a norm to wake up as early as 6Am in my house. I did my chores and other things worth doing in preparation for the special broadcasting worldwide by Jehovah's witnesses. This broadcast was happening live and at a specified time. We considered the scriptures that morning before carrying out these preparations. The scriptures emphasized Satan's challenge against God.
He told God that a man will give up all he has for his own life even if it means humans sacrifice their relationship with Him to live. This happened in the case of job but God proved Satan a liar. Job faced trials and suffered a painful disease that almost cost him his life but still, he said He can't renounce his integrity to his creator. Such loyalty and act of integrity he showed.

Generally, a lot of people are afraid of death because God created us with the desire to live forever but that purpose was thwarted although not lost. So Satan as the ruler of the world tries to exploit our natural fear of death so we could sacrifice everything and abandon our creator just to live.
I learnt a lot of lessons from this no doubt. After considering this scripture prayerfully, we took to Preparing for the meeting. Since Saturday, I've been faced with serious network issues that I can barely come online or make calls. This affected me somehow especially in moderating a community. I'm happy it's back but another major problem Nigerians are facing now is heat. Even under fan and AC, you can feel your body boiling because of the heat in Nigeria.
The broadcast was to commence by 11Am. How delighted I was to be taught spiritually from the bible. One of the themes used was "Trust in Jehovah with all your heart". In the world we're living in, you can't basically trust in someone just like that because trust can be broken at any time but trust with God can never be broken. A lot of people live their lives based on trusting in their Creator that he'll manoeuvre things when the time is right.
We trust in him to protect us, to help us deal with challenges and lot more. Our reliance on God and not on our own ability to do certain things thus help us in life lives that are comfortable amidst this system of things. After the broadcast, reports were given on the number of people worldwide that attended this broadcast that day.
Afternoon and Evening Activities |
---|
I had an appointment with someone after the meeting was over. The appointment was basically on photographing. He told me to come to an agreed location and take him some shots for his birthday which was the next day. I did justice to the meet-up in as much as my TP fare was covered. On my way, I stopped by a POS vendor to withdraw money but network did me dirty. The service was down completely. I couldn't do the transfer or make calls.
I was damn frustrated for the first time in my life but rescue came just right in time and that was how I honoured that appointment. We used a common field to do this photographing. I'm not a photographer in the making but just developed passion for that field lately because I'm this type of person that loves capturing every moment, even the smallest or unimportant.
I was surprised I could deliver something this amazing. This guy is actually in my department though. He came with his brother who happens to be my junior colleague. I tried as much as possible in giving them something great so they'll live to remember this moment. The pictures below shows the real and edited pictures.
He bought me things sold there to at least complement me for a job well done. The stick meat and suya sold there was tasted by me. I had capable hands. On leaving, he covered my transport fare as expected and then I took to capturing nature while it last. I found myself home, tired. I didn't want to miss the AFCON final match so I had to look for a viewing center close to my house but couldn't find one.
I thank God I didn't watch the match because Nigeria lost to ivory coast. No one had expected this type of game play from Nigeria. The coach was just a mess. We were all eager to take this cup home but the unexpected happened. The super eagles were just too relaxed that they would win this match but it shocked them. My mood did change at first but now I'm happy. I can't kill myself for anything called entertainment.
