Week 7 ended for our sing the song challenge and it was a hit because we still had two consistent contestants and one new contestant who joined this challenge. They gave their best shots singing the songs they know . They sang different songs that were quite emotional and spirit-filled. Two Nigerians and a Pakistani joined the contest. My judgement, recommendations and suggestions for improvement are shown below.

Vocalist 1

Let's start with the new participant we have this month. She's a Nigerian [@glorystar21] with the most unique of voices. Seems she's a vocalist from her introductory post. Having joined steemit some days back, she decided to feast on her passion and participate in the challenge. One thing I love about her voice is the sound, the tone and rhythm. I heard ladies sing better and have sweet voices compared to 70% of man who sing out there.

They use their sweet, light and tender treble voice to catch their listener's attention. She started on the perfect pitch but went flat and changed the tone at some point. Then she even made it sweeter by enhancing the tone quality with her unique voice.

A little suggestion: You need to work on calming your nerves when singing to avoid singing off. Just relax and let your mind feel the song. Even though you may need to strain your voice in some lyrics, you won't have to do so from the beginning to the end of the song.

I love your energy, the fire in your gut and your voice. I also want you to work on your post quality as this matters a lot in singing. It's just like having a good voice but your appearance is questionable.

You did Great. Can't wait to see you bring this energy in this week's challenge.

@shahidalinaz is next in line. He's another vocalist that did justice to the song given him. He may not have known this song but he learned it and sang it as though he was familiar with the song. He has this Hindi voice that sometimes confuse with the voice of the artiste. His enunciations were on point but there are yet 3 things I want to point out.

As a singer, you need to breath in live to your voice and spell the emotions. If you noticed, the first part of the lyrics was dragged and tensed in such a way that can fill listener's ears with goosebumps. You also need to improve the tone so that one won't have to check the original song to recognise or learn.

This is where you need to improve on. Don't just sing flat without instrumental. Try using riffs or create captivating tones and hums that can make this song interesting to listen to. Let me show you something......You can still use your normal voice to spell these emotions without having to sing treble or enhanced tenor.

The last vocalist @whitie sang the song Can I have this dance. I love his composure, tone quality and breath control. His voice is very much ohkay for the song as he didn't have to strain too much. I was expecting him to use treble but he beat my imagination by using tenor. A little improvement should be seen in your emotions. Don't just sing. Sing with emotions and let your listeners succumb to the tone quality of your voice, irrespective of the kind of voice you use.

All of them did excellently well. I must commend them again_ You all need to work on the arrangement of your post next time. Make good use of this markdown style after inputting your YouTube video link to avoid scattered arrangement of your content. @ah-agim wanted to join with a different song but last week's challenge was a barrier. He can now join and sing in his language because this week is freestyle. You're not to sing a specific song.

I sent out rewards to these three lovely vocalists for doing their best. They nailed it.

Week 8

For week 8, we'll go freestyle. We'll be going freestyle till the end of the month. The aim of going freestyle is for us to have enough participants that would participate in this challenge and the upcoming ones. You're free to sing whatever song you want to sing. As you sing, drop the link to the song, the artiste name and lyrics if possible, so we can compare with how you sing. The following criterias would be used to access singers. We'll be judging everyone based on how they sing and the nature of the song in question.

Starting July 1st, we'll be on singing auditions on competition levels. Everyone is free to sing whatever song they want to use as entry into the competition. The audition stage would be used to register a user into the competition. A week following the audition week which would probably be next week, we'll be promoting the competition to our friends in steemit and beyond. Judges would be selected across different countries and the winning prize would be steems and SP delegation based.

Sponsors on [SP delegation] would be needed for this challenge as I'll liaise with some Steemians before the audition starts._
