Application for the Community Curators for September 2024

The team called it an opportunity to be workers on the platform and not an outright position to rule over. We consider it a special privilege to be given the opportunity to be tested to see if we will be able to work effectively, meeting their requirements. Such an extended opportunity where SP is not set as a barrier is worthwhile.

If given the opportunity for everyone to apply for the presidency without barriers, the masses would want to. I decided to pair up with a user who would work alongside me. Knowing fully well that it's an application, we would be specific with details.

I am Jephthah Moses by name, a Nigerian with the username @bossj23 on this steemit. I'm known on Steemit for my ability to use original pictures to add to the quality of a post. Aside from the fact that I'm a reputable member with a reputation of 75 and that I have positions on this platform, I don't use my position to lord over anyone but to help them and to perform a lot of selfless services on this platform.

Physically, I'm a student in one of the prestigious universities in my country. Despite the fact that I'm still a student, I have mastery over some skills which I use in supporting myself and my family e.g photography and sewing. I have no bad name and my lifestyle is displayed in most of the contents I created on the space.

I joined this platform in July 2021 with the aim of creating an impact using my content and also learning from others. Meaning, I have 3 years working experience on the platform. With my level of experience, I've been tested for fitness and given roles to play on the platform, which include:

• working as a moderator in the steemkids and parents community and steem4nigeria

• given the opportunity to be a newbie guide or coach.

• an ambassador in the knack4buzz community

• a triple dolphin

• a community curator

When you're given a position to work, you serve others, support them, help them, correct them, and give them equal access to the power designated to you. When favouritism is placed at the forefront, it becomes something else. This is what I've guarded against working as a moderator and a curator. To whomever more is given, more is expected.

The Steemkids and Parents Community is the first community I served as a moderator in 2022. Despite the fact that I work towards remaining active on the platform, I ensure negligence is not part of the work entrusted to me. This is what has kept me still as a moderator.

Years ago, I never dreamt of the opportunity to work for others in reputable positions, but this is a different case today as opportunities are extended to not only the most reputable, the most owned, and the most influential.

Perfection is no one's friend. We make mistakes at times, but we try as much as possible not to repeat them. As a noticeable promoter on the platform, I deprive myself of a lot just for others to get to where I am and also have an opportunity to express themselves as they join the space.

I've recruited over 70 members on this platform, but I still don't give 100% credit to myself because promoting is a responsibility and a work for me to do for the masses. This is me, and I'm ready to shoulder this responsibility and work to ensure the masses are supported for whatever quality content is made.

This is Mr. Khursheedanwar, from Pakistan. By profession, I am a physics lecturer in Lahore (Area of Punjab Province), and it has been 6 years since I gave my services as a lecturer at the Punjab Group of colleges. I am a graduate of the University of Engineering and Technology

I joined Steemit in December 2022, and there were different challenges I have faced from my journey still, but my consistency has brought me here. Now, after achieving my target of the first dolphin, I have also caught another dolphin, so now officially I am a double dolphin, and I am applying now as a curator.

I've not worked as a curator before, so this is an opportunity for me to try with this application. I hope I'll be given such an opportunity to see what it is like to serve as a curator. I've received responsibilities in different communities which includes;

• moderator in steem4bloggers community
• moderator in healthy steem community
• Admin in knack4buzz community

I first became moderator in steem4bloggers community before the evolution of the other two communities lately. If I can manage a whole community, I can be as competent as in handling this responsibility if given me and my team member.

I am really happy that my road to success is brightening day by day, and I am happy that after many leadership roles like moderatorship in different communities, I now also consider myself eligible to be a community curator. Through my curation, I would always try my best to build my trust at Steemit by choosing eligible and quality content creators and the top-most engaged users.

All these qualities determine how much I am determined to be a community curator and to have this amazing role this month.

Having extended such an opportunity, the team is looking for a better change in curation. Following the proceedings, we would love to be dynamic, as that's what those in positions of power are expected to do. So my team member and I, if given the opportunity to serve, will do the following:

• Our curation won't be limited to communities alone. There are lots of posts outside communities on people's blogs. Just as gold is rare to find, we may find quality posts where we never expected them. Extending support to posts that are quality outside the community is what we resolve to do.

• Working without placing favouritism, racism, and tribalism at the forefront is what we will avoid, as it won't help in making our work thorough and effective.

• Quality comments, as this is another major backbone of a blogging site, would be supported by us. We ensure we look beyond just quality posts, and we also make good use of tags to find quality contents.

• We won't just vote based on assumptions but on analysis as well, and if the team will buy this suggestion, we can drop a brief recommendation on posts we vote on if needed, as quality can't be measured.

It's one thing to say and another to do. We have said what we would do if selected and with trust and confidence on our part, we can handle this task to the best of our abilities while implementing plans that would be for the betterment of this platform, now and in the future. We have been working honestly , diligently without negligence to work etc. for years now.

Experience is the best teacher and from experience in what is least, we would be faithful in what is much following this opportunity.
