The Diary Game || 16-02-2025 || Serving Jehovah And Enjoying Life's Simple Pleasures.
Today, Sunday, was a unique day in our congregation, as our usual weekend meeting was replaced by a special program we watched on Saturday. We were inspired as a congregation to share the good news with others. I spent the day spreading the message, playing football, and enjoying quality time with friends.
As I reflect on my day, I'm excited to share how it unfolded through my diary. Here's how my fulfilling day began...
Morning Session.
My day started at 7:00 AM when my father's voice woke me up, requesting that I do some laundry for him. I quickly got out of bed and began the task, knowing I had to finish quickly to tidy up and join my congregation for the scheduled outreach program at 9:00 AM.
I completed the laundry within an hour, then prepared and freshened up. I left the house at 8:40 AM heading to the kingdom hall, feeling refreshed and ready to declare the good news with my congregation.

As I left the house, I felt a deep sense of joy and purpose, knowing that I was on my way to participate in the sacred work of Jehovah, the Almighty. Although the kingdom hall was a considerable distance from my home, I couldn't find a ride, so I decided to walk. The 25-minute stroll flew by, and I arrived at the kingdom hall feeling happy.
Upon arrival, I joined the congregation to receive instructions from our overseer. We were then paired up in twos, ready to set out and share the good news with others.

With our assigned territory, number 3, in hand, our group set out, enjoying lively and meaningful conversations as we walked the 20-minute route to our destination. Upon arrival, we paused briefly, waiting for the elderly individuals in our group to catch up, as they walked at a more leisurely pace accompanied by some of our younger brothers.

When the elderly people arrived, we split up, and I accompanied my assigned partner, an elderly woman, as we began sharing the good news from house to house. Today's field service presented a challenge as we struggled to find people at home.
At the first three houses we visited, the occupants declined to listen, citing their imminent departure for their own church services. Respecting their decision, we moved on, wondering if we would encounter anyone receptive to the message that day.

As we approached the T-junction, we took a brief break, waiting for the other group to emerge from their house calls. After a 15-minute wait, they began to trickle out, and to my delight, the first person I spotted was a friend whom I always enjoy his company. Happy by the reunion, I quickly snapped a selfie with him to capture the moment.
As the entire group assembled, we resumed our outreach efforts. During my next house visit, I didn't find anyone home, but I stumbled upon a fascinating fruit, the Five Fingers, also known as Starfruit. I snapped a photo and later asked the elderly members of our group about its benefits.

They shared valuable insights, explaining that Starfruit is an excellent source of antioxidants, including vitamin C. This helps safeguard the body against free radicals and oxidative stress. Furthermore, they mentioned that the vitamin C content in Starfruit promotes healthy skin, reduces wrinkles, and shields against sun damage.
Today's outreach was truly enlightening, and I gained valuable knowledge about the Starfruit's benefits. Inspired, I purchased one on my way home to enjoy its nutritional advantages.
At my next stop, I met a young tailor, and I took the opportunity to share the Good News with him. I explained God's promises for humanity, highlighting the upcoming paradise where suffering will cease. He was heartened by the message, and I promised to follow up with him, which I plan to do on Tuesday.
My final outreach stop was a shop near @bossj23's house, marking the conclusion of my declaring the good news for the day. I had a prior commitment to assist a brother in preparing food items for his guests.
Before heading to the brother's house, I started the pairing of individuals for Bible study. Once they departed, I made a quick stop at @bossj23's residence to request a glass of water.

Being the kind-hearted person he is, he generously offered us cold water from his freezer. Refreshed and rejuvenated after drinking from the cup, I felt invigorated and energized. Accompanied by two other brothers who volunteered to lend a hand, I continued on to the brother's house to assist with the food preparations.
Afternoon Session.

I arrived at the brother's house at 12 pm, ready to lend a hand. As a warm welcome, we were offered refreshing drinks, Fanta and Action Bitters. I was intrigued by the combination, as Action Bitters contains a hint of alcohol, while Fanta is non-alcoholic. I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, the mix was delightful, photocopy of a fine wine. As you can see from the photo above, I savored each sip with eyes closed, relishing the sweet flavor.

After the refreshing drink, I rolled up my sleeves, ready to dive into the task. However, our host's wife kindly insisted that we fuel up with a meal first. As a self-proclaimed food enthusiast😀, I couldn't resist the offer. I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious bitterleaf soup with two of my friends.
Rejuvenated after the meal and a brief rest, we tackled the tasks at hand, slaughtering two chickens, boiling and pounding cocoyam, and gathering firewood.

Executing the tasks with just the three of us was no easy feat. Venturing into the scorching bush was particularly challenging, but I tackled it with joy and happiness, knowing that I was assisting my brother in need. I found comfort in the knowledge that Jehovah would abundantly bless my selfless efforts.
Once the cocoyam was cooked and ready for pounding, we carefully placed it in the mortar and used the pestle to pound it with strength. The rhythmic pounding was a testament to our teamwork and dedication. You can catch a glimpse of our pounding session in the video below👇🏾
Pounding the cocoyam was a labor-intensive task, requiring meticulous grinding to achieve the perfect consistency. Thankfully, with the collective effort of my friends, we successfully completed the task, bringing immense joy to the brother and his family.
As a token of appreciation, we were treated to a special dish from the meal we helped prepare. We took our delicious reward home, feeling fulfilled.
With time flying, I realized it was already approaching 4 pm. I hastily prepared myself and headed to the football field to unwind with friends over a lively game of soccer.
Evening Session.

I arrived at the football field just before 5 pm, eager to spend quality time with my Christian brothers through a friendly game of soccer. We formed two teams, each consisting of six players. The match was intensely enjoyable, and my team, which included @kidi40, emerged victorious with a 2-1 scoreline.

Exiting the football field, exhausted but exhilarated, we made a quick stop at divine shopping center to buy cold pure water. Before heading home, we decided to visit a friend who had missed the game, to spend quality time together over food and drinks.
We purchased cow skin, periwinkle, melon, and oil, totaling approximately 5,000 naira (equivalent to 17 Steem). Our fortunate encounter with a caring sister, who resides with our friend, proved to be a blessing. She graciously offered to assist us in preparing the cow skin and melon.

Honestly, I had never savored cow skin as delicious as this before. The flavors melded together perfectly, leaving me in awe. As we caught sight of the meal and inhaled its enticing aroma, our joy and happiness knew no bounds. We were overwhelmed with excitement, and boom, we broke into dance, moving to the rhythm of "Joy is Coming**".

Following our lively dance, we savored the delicious cow skin and paired it with a bottle of Big Ben to complement the meal. As dark approached, we reluctantly bid farewell to our friend and his family, ensuring we could catch a taxi to take us back home.
Reflecting on the day's events, I felt grateful for the opportunity to engage in Godly activities, lending a helping hand to a couple, enjoying a game of football, to spending quality time with dear friends, the day was truly fulfilling. **This is my diary ✍🏾. Goodnight ☪️
