Taho (silken tufo with tapioca and caramel) is a popular Filipino street food. It is usually sold by ambulant vendors early in the morning as the hot tofu wakes little children (and children at heart) to a brand new day.

This ambulant vendor carries in one tin container the hot silken tofu.

Using disposable cups, he sells portions for 5 pesos, 10 pesos, and 20 pesos.

He adds the tofu into the cup first.

He will then add a generous amount of arnibal or caramelized sugar.

He will top the cup with tapioca pearls and condensed milk.

Taho is best served hot although it tastes just as good when served cold.

In other parts of the Philippines, other ingredients are used to add flavor to the taho.

Should you visit the Philippines, never miss the chance to buy some. You will never miss the vendor as he would loudly call "Tahoooooooo" so everyone can have their sweet and warm cup.
