Donations Required for Pakistani Flood Victims

Small town in KPK province

Pakistan has been badly affected by the floods which were triggered by heavy monsoon rainfalls. Whether we call it mis-management on the government’s part or a natural calamity, either way people are suffering.

These flash floods have turned the lives of many families’ upside down. People are in misery. The most affected is the lower class which barely manage to make both ends meet with the help of daily wages or extremely low monthly income.

Pakistan is thankful to all the countries who sent donations in time and saved the lives of many people. Locals also donated their hearts out and helped in every possible way and are still doing whatever they can. Food, shelter, medicines, clothing, antenatal kits, baby food and whatever is needed is being provided.

As you know, I previously mentioned that flood affected areas are just 2km away from my place. This gave me a chance to directly meet some families.

They were happy with the donations they got which helped them survive the tough days but what about the future? What about the after effects of flood? Their homes, furniture, essential electronics like refrigerator, motors for clean water are badly damaged. These are the things which are needed to get back to normal life again.

These are some of the pictures of one such home.

Do you think a poor person, a sole bread earner of the family who hardly makes 15-20k per month can afford to buy this stuff any time soon?

NGOs have taken care of the basic needs for survival but nobody is thinking about what’s waiting for them next.

I know re-establishing a home will require a lot of funds. I have decided to donate from my pocket but that’s not enough. Therefore, after putting a lot of thought into it, I have decided to collect some funds in @pak-charity.

From today, I will be setting a beneficiary to this account in all my posts. If any of you want to join me and help a family get back to normal life then @pak-charity is the account. Set beneficiaries as much as you can.

I will keep you posted as I help the victims to maintain the transparency.

Thank you!

Regards,
event-horizon

I think it is a very good initiative that we all can collect some funds to reach the deserving people who have been affected by the floods. There is no doubt that our areas have also been greatly affected. We have collected a lot of funds together with friends and have reached the poor people.

  • It is a natural disaster. And it is a good initiative of Park Charity to collect aid for the flood victims. I am with you in this initiative.
  • The need of this age is how this aid will reach the flood victims. Because 60 percent of Pakistan is currently under flood and roads and bridges will be broken from everywhere, due to which it is very difficult for the common man to reach the deserving people.
  • We have to work together with Pakistan Army for this work. Because Pakistan Army is the only institution through which we can deliver our aid to the flood victims.
  • I appeal to all my colleagues that each user should write a post to help the flood victims and donate the proceeds to Park Charity.

this is a good initiative

Hi @event-horizon, help me figure it out. @huzaifanaveed1 wrote about the need for help, indicating the account @smilepakistan. But I don't see any transfers to this account. You specify the @pak-charity account. Where better to send help. There is a war in my country, so I apologize that I will not be able to help significantly, but I would like some of the profits from my posts to go into the right hands.

Hello @o1eh

First of all, thank you so much for trying to help us in these crisis. It makes me believe that there's still a lot of hope left in the world.

I'll explain the situation to you and if you've any confusions after that, please feel absolutely free to ask. The floods have hit us from all sides. I live in Karachi, that is the southern most belt of Pakistan, whereas @event-horizon lives in the Northern region

Both, @smilepakistan and @pak-charity are collecting donations seperately as we're working in two different regions. @event-horizon is helping the people in her area while I am helping people affected in the southern part of the country. The affectees are hugeeee in number and we're already working off-steemit as well.

The reason why there has been no transfers yet from @smilepakistan is due to it's affiliation with the Worldsmile. The Worldsmile leader has told us that the worldsmile will not collaborate with any NGOs.

Where I live, it's impossible to personally visit the flood affected areas as almost all the road connections have broken and only the NGOs are helping these people through air support and other means.

So, you can send your donations to any of these two, knowing that your donation will be in good hands and will reach the people, whom you're donating for.

Thank you once again for helping us, it honestly means a lot, considering the war that you're going through right now.

Thanks for the clarification. I will transfer a small amount to you, and you already know better where to send it :)

Very good

Hi @o1eh. Thank you for thinking about Pakistan specially when Ukraine is still under war. I realize the difficulties that war brought so you don't have to go out of the way. I truly appreciate your gesture. If you still feel like that you can contribute then Huzaifa has already explained the reason behind two accounts.

I am not attached with any NGO nor does @pak-charity. I am directly helping a few families that I know. You can contribute wherever you like, the dontations will go in the right hands.

Thanks, I finally got it :) I will set @pak-charity as the beneficiary.

O Lord, you are merciful, you are merciful, and we are sinners. Please show your special mercy to us, your beloved beloved Hazrat MUHAMMAD (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him).🤲🤲🤲

May Allah have mercy on Pakistan

I must want to pray for those people that are in great difficulties. GOD bless him. We all should pray for them and pray for them

This is really a very painful situation for all Pakistani people and we need to help them because those people have faced many
