Hi everyone
Hope you’re all doing great! I’m back with a post after ages, and as you’ve read the title, this one is about my trip to Charna Island. 🌊 In this post, I’ will share what I saw, what I did, and how the experience of being surrounded by marine life felt. Imagine being 26 feet above water when you can’t even swim panic mode was inevitable! 😅

The trip began early in the morning when I woke up at 6 AM to get ready. My friend came to pick me up, and as usual, we were the latest ones.

😬 By the time we reached campus, everyone else was already on the bus, waiting for us. After taking attendance, we were handed a form to sign, basically saying, “If anything happens to you, we’re not responsible 😳 I was a little taken aback but signed it anyway.

We got on the bus, and the journey started. The 2 hour drive was full of energy, with everyone enjoying the hype songs playlist. We reached Mubarak Village, from where we were supposed to take a boat to Charna Island.

At Mubarak Village, we wore life jackets, adjusted our belongings, and got onto the boat. 🚤 It was my first time being on a ship, and while I was nervous at first, everything felt amazing as we got moving. We all sat at the edge of the boat with our feet dangling over the water, enjoying the cool sea breeze. The feeling of seawater touching your feet was pure bliss! 🦶💦

After about 45-50 minutes, we spotted Charna Island.

Once we reached the island, everyone got into the water with proper safety measures. I, however, had a tough time balancing myself and started floating aimlessly, panicking because water kept going into my nose and mouth. 😵

Thankfully, a friend came to help, and we swam toward the cliff together. But when it was time to jump, I backed out because I was too scared of losing my balance again. 😓 I returned to the water, calmed myself down, and slowly started to regain control.

Next, we decided to try snorkeling. 🏊‍♀️ We put on the goggles and gear, and the moment I looked underwater, I was mesmerized. Seeing the marine life up close was magical so many colorful fish swimming beneath us. 🐠 It was the most beautiful sight I have ever seen At one point, I saw a huge group of fish right under my feet, and I was completely awestruck. Later, one of the swimmers even helped push me underwater for 4-5 seconds to get a closer look, and it was even more breathtaking💙

After 3 hours of exploring snorkeling, and enjoying the marine beauty, we returned to the boat for lunch. Then we headed back home, ticking off another item from my bucket list. ALLHAMDULILLAH, this was one of the best experiences of my life, and I hope I get to visit again this time to try scuba diving 🤿 The memories from this trip are worth every penny forever. ❤️
