RE: Comment contest! / Junk Food / SP prize
I never ate much junk food. It didn't exist as I grew up and if I had no access to it. I remember the first "snack bar" it only sold chips, fried chicken, frikandel, and croquette. Sauces? All there was was: piccalilli, mayonnaise, tomato ketchup and mustard. If I visit a snack bar today I have no idea what I am looking at. I avoid them because they are not only very expensive but the food is tasteless if not prepared in old oil.
McDonalds was nowhere near where I lived but I remember "NortheSea Quick restaurants". It was about fish and chips served in a clean environment. Today all the fast food restaurants are dirty (it's hard to believe not too long ago people were cleaning and disinfecting their groceries, and taking off their clothes before they entered their homes. What a bunch of jokers, those same people never wash their hands and sneeze or cough into your face. As if they never been in contact with with dirt and bacteria before.
If you are used to fast food you have a bad taste and no idea what real food tastes like also your smell is getting worse.
A fast-food restaurant doesn't deserve the word "restaurant'. To me, a restaurant is a place where people decently dressed sit and are being served. The food is well prepared, the tablecloths are clean and the atmosphere is peaceful.
In fast food restaurants, people stuff themselves like pigs. They behave as if didn't eat in a very long time. I don't like to watch people eat this way it spoils my appetite and the fast food's price? It's way too expensive for what is offered, always disappointing and it smells and looks odd.
