Entertainment Blog #322 | Do Revenge [2022] : It is Revenge^2
"Do Revenge" is yet again had been in my laptop for years, since 2022 in fact begging to be watched, and finally, I watched it recently. It packs a few stars such as Camila Mendes, Maya Hawke, and Austin Abrahams who had success from Netflix shows. It has good reviews due to its plot twists and the flow of the story.
The story revolves around a group of students from Rosehill Country High School. Drea is a popular girl in high school who recently posed in the cover of a magazine. Her passion is to go to Yale and study law. She has her boyfriend, Max, and her friend crew Tara, Megan, Montana, Elliott and more. And she has enemies, too.
When she can't refuse the request of intimate stuff by her boyfriend, she sends what he wants. And when she realized what had happened overnight in the morning when she came to school, it was too late. In minutes, she lost everything. Her fame, her friends, her boyfriend.
Since the summer vacation came, there was this tennis camp organized by the high school and there Drea meets Eleanor in a very strange way as Drea has never heard of Eleanor, as she is new to school. She knows about what happened to Drea and she becomes the emotional support for her when no one is there for him.
And then Eleanor shares what had happened to her with Carissa, a girl from the high school years ago, and with that, both had intentions of getting revenge from them. Since it is risky to search for dirt on the people they want to revenge, they swap them so Eleanor search dirt on Max while Drea search dirt on Carissa.
So how will this revenge plan go? Will this go good? Will only one benefit from this? It's up to you to find.
If the movie flowed according to the way I guessed, the movie would have ended in about an hour. But this is a 2 hour movie. When we get to that 1 hour level, you get to know the real deal going inside and that's a good plot twist. Have the film given some hints to show that this path was possible? Hell yeah.. And it was well executed, just how it should be..
