How Our Sunday Went

This Sunday started late after a long sleep. As Harith's mother prepared thosai for all of us, I didn’t have the responsibility of cooking in the morning. So, I let myself wake up as it wanted.

After breakfast, we started cleaning our bedroom as we had already planned. The biggest effort in cleaning our house goes into removing dust. Even though we mostly keep our windows closed, dust covers the surfaces quickly. It took about 2 hours and 30 minutes to clean the bedroom and vacuum it. We also washed all the floor mats and bedsheets.

Around 1:30 PM, we went out to grab lunch and some groceries. A newly opened restaurant near our house caught our attention, so we stopped there for lunch. We had rice and curry, and the food seemed really good.

Then we headed to Ambalangoda town to buy some gifts for the upcoming New Year. Today was extremely hot, so we stopped by an ice cream parlor for a treat. We were really tired but still had to visit a few more places to buy vegetables and some dairy products.

It was about 5 PM when we headed back home. The hardest part after a trip like this is unpacking everything. However, we managed to unpack and organize everything within 30 minutes.

Then came my favorite part—gift packing time. Around 6 PM, the rain began with thunder. It was the perfect time to settle into bed after a long day.
