RE: Replying to @praveenw96 After Watching SOUL
NICELY WRITTEN MATE!
Yes, you're right. Somehow just before I watched the movie I had a talk about how all the human beings are equally same and also at the same time different from each other. Same and different simultaneously.
It was nice to see Soul movie, an animation movie that looks like made for kids, nodding to that statement. At least the way I thought so. All the souls are all the same at first, it's the different personalities they receive later and the 'spark' that makes them different from each other. Deep concept, nicely put.
Even though I didn't mention in my post, the idea of 'lost souls' is beautifully painted here. Something that we so often encounter in our lives, in reality. Again, deep stuff, but nicely put. That's what I love about this film. As I remember, the director's previous work does the same thing too.
Concept of Soul, concept of life and death, lost souls, anxiety of the modern society, especially in a technologically rapidly advancing world, happiness is hidden in little things. Also Great Beyond and Great Before.. I think it's the same thing that's talking in hard science fiction movies like Interstellar and 2001ASO, the 4th dimension. The whole another world that Joe goes can be taken as the 4th dimension.
I mean again, deep, complex stuff. Nicely put in a kids movie.
But I don't think kids can understand the real meaning that the movie is talking about. For us the movie gives a big message and impact. But for kids it's a really fun and cute. The character selection and design good for kids. It had many childish stuff. Even souls, Jerries, and the cat.. kids love that. The inner idea and message goes for adults.
Thank you for responding my post.
