Staycation at Aluthgama| Day 1

My sister’s uni friends are a trio gang and it sometimes becomes four because I also join them whenever I can making me also a friend of her friends. Two years ago, I wrote about the engagement that I attended for one of her friend’s engagements and this post is about her wedding.

Her wedding was held at Aluthgama. We had an issue how to attend the wedding because it’s not easy to go for a three hour bus ride wearing sarees and make up. What we came up with was to stay at a hotel closer to her wedding venue, so we can reach the hotel a day before and get ready freshly. Therefore, it instantly turned into a staycation!

We booked a triple room where my sis, her other friend and myself could all stay together, and I must say the view that room opened up to was amazing and what exactly we needed! The balcony area leads up to a place where we can relax and enjoy the scenery. Sun rise and sunset were specially breathtaking because of the river and we could also see how people are playing different water games and fishing. We wanted to go near the river, but first things first, we went to Mr. Kottu to have lunch as we were all starving. We spent few hours freshening up and relaxing after returning before going near the river. When it was finally time to go downstairs and walk closer to the river, it was closer to twilight but the burning sun adds so much colour to it. To state the obvious facts, we spent some good time in taking pictures and gossiping there.

Our soon to be bride was also supposed to check into the same hotel that night and she told she would bring us dinner. We all felt a little hungry, so we went to the pizza hut to have a quick snack when we were waiting for her. The next thing the agenda was to throw a bride to be party which would be going to be a total surprise for her. See you again with that next time!
