Vikings is one of the best and one of my favorite TV series of all time. It is a historical drama about Viking history, combining myths, and sagas. We all love to watch those historical tales with some action, right? So, this one is for you!
It was created by Michael Hirst and telecasted for 06 seasons from 2013 to 2020. We see many Epic and realistic battles, brutal raids from them, the beautiful nature in Europe, and also traditions and lifestyle of Vikings through this series.

The show has received 8.5/10 from 613K ratings in IMDB, and as you can see all the episodes have received a very high rating. Anyway, amidst the ratings and awards, this show surely provides very much entertainment, along with amazing cinematography, storytelling, acting, and performances.

Well, it's a talented cast from all around the world; Australia, England, Finland, Denmark, Canada, USA etc.
Well, as I said earlier the show is about Ragnar Lothbrok, formally a farmer in Kattegat with his wife Largertha, and son Bjorn. But he had a dream of exploring the West, and not only he became successful in it with the help of his family and friends, he became the King of Norway, and died as a legend creating the history.
Vikings are group of Ethnic, originally came from Scandinavia (present-day Denmark, Norway, and Sweden) who are mainly associated with the sea, around late 8th to the late 11th centuries. They were known for their sea voyages, raidings, and brutality across Europe, and America as well.
Season 01: Start with Ragnar living as a farmer with his family, and his intentions to explore the West. His friend Floky was secretly building a ship, and Ragnar led a voyage to England, without the permission of their ruler, Earl Haraldson, and returned with a fortune. After that, they had a few more raids, and with the bad blood between earl, Ragnar became the new Earl of Kattegat. We see many important characters here King Ecbert of the kingdom of Northumbria, King Horik of Denmark, Athelstan; a devoted Christian, Ragnar's rival of their kind Jarl Borg, etc.
Season 02: We see the battle between brothers Rollo, and Ragnar during the fight between, Jarl Borg and King Horik. With Ragnar's affair with Princess Aslaug, Lagertha left with Bjorn. After a few years like that, Ragnar had three more sons. Anyway, when Ragnar raided England once again and negotiated to have lands from there, Jarl Borg captured Kattegat. Then we see Ragnar retaking it, the reunion of Lagartha, Bjorn, and him, the betrayal of their truce by King Ecbert, Lagartha becoming the earl in Earldom, and Ragnar becoming the king.
Season 03: We see revenge from King Ecbert, and some romantic shit with both the locations as well. Ragnar tried to be more diplomatic, and once again they acquired land from England, and with the help of Lagartha biking started farming there. The raid to Paris was one of the epic battles in the series. Twice Vikings were defeated badly, and finally, they conquered it with a little trick. We saw the fearsome nature of Bjorne here, and finally,y Rollo stayed in Paris, and then he was offered land and titles, and married to the princess to defend France from Vikings.
Season 04: We see Ragnar getting weak and on the other hand England, and France with the help of Rollo, are preparing their defenses against Viking attacks. We see Ragnar's sons becoming men, and some rising persons in different parts of Vikings. They all attacked France, and Rollo was successful in defeating them. Ragnar was killed in his final battle against King Ecbert and King Aelle, and then the revenge from his sons.
- Season 05 and 06: Here we mainly see the disputes between Ragnar's sons, the exploration from Bjorn, and especially some cruelty and war tactics from Ivar. The brothers were battling over leadership and loyalties. And finally, we see the decline of Vikings, with the deaths of most of the warriors.
So, this is a small overview of one of the greatest shows. If you love history, and action, I invite you to watch this. It's amazing, simple as that!
