New Sensations in Cricket

Hello, fellow Cricket Enthusiasts,

What do you know about the term "Fab Four" in cricket? Well, traditionally it refers to the four top excellent batsmen who dominate the world stage. In recent years there have been four players associated with this term. Virat Kohli (India), Steve Smith (Australia), Kane Williamson (New Zealand), and Joe Root (England). They took the batting to the next level with some quality innings across the formats. Eventhough there were some ups and downs in their careers still it's pointless to replace these guys.

Anyway, recently there are 04 players who are rising in Test Cricket and taking notice on the big stage. Can they emerge as next Fab 04?

Kamindu Mendis - Sri Lanka

This guy has the dreamy start in Test Cricket that anyone has ever dreamed of. The new sensation from Sri Lanka, Kamindu Mendis has played 13 innings in 08 matches and already got past 1000 runs in front of his name. With that, he became the 3rd fastest player alongside Sir Donald Bradman to reach 1000 Test runs.

He has played one Test match against Australia in Galle, 2 Tests against Bangladesh in Ban, 03 Tests in England, and 02 against Kiwis in Galle. In his 13 innings, he has 09 50+ scores with 05 centuries as well, with a Batting average of insane 91.27. He also became the first player to score a 50+ score in all first 08 Test matches. So, let's hope he can continue this beast form continuously.

Harry Brook - England

Unarguably he is becoming an all-format specialist. He is known for his aggressive batting style and yet consistent. In his first 9 test innings, he scored 809 runs, which is the highest by any player even at a strike rate of 98.77. With a dream start now he has 1558 runs in 18 Test matches at an average of 53.72 with 5 centuries and 9 fifties.

Brook has 647 runs in 19 ODI matches at an average of 38.05. And in 39 T20I matches 707 runs on a 30.73 average. He is probably captain material as leading England's under-19 team and now he is leading England's Test team against Australia at the age of 25.

Yashasvi Jaiswal - India

After two good IPL seasons, he got the Test call-up for India last year. In his debut Test inning against West Indies, he managed a century, precisely 171 runs, announcing his arrival. Later in a 5-match series against England, he scored 2 consecutive double-centuries which is a rare feat for anyone, then imagine a 23-year-old boy. So far in 18 matches in 10 matches, he has 1094 runs scored at an average of 64.35, including 03 hundred and 05 fifties. In the T20I also, he managed a century against Nepal.

Currently, he is at number 06 in Tests and no.04 in T20I batting rankings.

Rachin Ravindra - New Zealand

He is becoming an all-format specialist. In last year's ODI World Cup, he scattered many batting records as a debutant. He managed 578 runs in 10 innings with three centuries. It's the most number of runs and centuries in the debut World Cup. IN 25 ODI matches he has scored 820 runs at an average of 41 with three centuries and 3 half centuries. In Test Cricket he has 1269 runs in 08 matches at an average of 43.33, with a highest score of 240 runs.

Until the next time! Enjoy!

Thank you.
Best Regards!
