Lizards are on the list of the various reptiles which most nature loving people admire due to their interesting colors and traits. Today, lizards can be found in a range of ecosystems from the microscopic chameleon to the large iguana. Their adaptability sees them not only living in a desert or forest but even in a city.

One of the most attractive aspects of lizards is their ability to alter their coloration. Evolution colored in various ways due to many reasons such as hunting moves, warmth associated with the ground or water, and bright colors to communicate. To illustrate the point further, the anole lizard possesses the ability to change its color the same way chameleons do for purposes of hiding from danger.

More than just being a source of eye candy, they also perform functions that are vital within the food chain. Being carnivores as well as herbivores, they help control the populations of smaller insects in the ecosystem as food sources to other animals. Their adaptive characteristics like breathing in the water and the self-healing of the broken tail extremities demonstrate the wonders of survival in these creatures.

However, when it comes to lizards, starting from the ordinary to the extraordinary, it’s mostly about coordinating their activities with real life. Nature conservations, care, and compassion will be fostered if the reasons for why the natural world is both beautiful and important is appreciated.
