NO Hidoku - Second Trial Edition
Yes, I’m actually quite happy with the NO Hidoku Debut!
For one, it rocketed the number of active NO users from zero to ten (the NO Community is far from reanimation!); and for another – it was fun. Well, at least for me.
Okay, maybe the game ended a little too quickly, but that was down to the baby-easy test version.
That said, I did spot a little “bug” which might slightly take away from the intended thrill – building the chain of numbers together, step by step, and perhaps making the occasional mistake others could benefit from.
Of course I assumed that NO one of our die-hard brain athletes would use an AI solver (I’m not naïve – there are Hidoku solvers online, just like for Wördel, Quördel, and even the game of the games: Scrabble). What I didn’t expect was the level of ambition from our top-tier brain gymnasts: They printed out the Hidoku (I even did recommend it, to be fair...) and solved the whole grid themselves. Ah, do you still remember those moments when you hit a dead end and had to grab the good old rubber eraser? Love it!
Now, I’m not trying to stop this strategy – it’s certainly not “forbidden”. But if we all go down that route, guessing becomes mere transcription, and the DUBby points are guaranteed...
Ah well, we’ll see! Come on – it’ll be fun again!
Before we kick off round two, here’s one important note:
I – the original me – will only resteem this game one more time.
So if you don’t want to miss any future interactive posts from this fun account, make sure to follow it and/or keep checking the entries in the NO Community regularly.
Right then: Ready, steady – go!

Hidoku (beta)
Hidoku Rules
Fill in the empty cells to form a chain of consecutive numbers from 1 to the total number of cells.
Each number in the chain must touch the next one horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
NO-Hidoku Rules
Of course, this is a team game – we’re playing together!
- Post your guesses in the comments using the format
D2=17
(for example). - Every correct number earns you DUBby rewards!
- You can suggest up to three numbers in one comment. But beware: if even one is incorrect, you get NO DUBby rewards at all! Better safe than sorry – maybe just stick to one or two numbers?
- You may suggest numbers again when:
- the referee (me or I or myself) has confirmed or rejected your guesses, and
- another player has made a guess after you.
- We play until each cell is filled correctly.
- Pro tip: Print out the Hidoku grid and write in the correct numbers by hand – there won’t be any digital photo service!
Right then — let’s get going!

Ah… can we finally snatch (and fail) here too? I’m starting to realise that was half the fun - just like in the good old Quördel days

That was the plan, but I'm afraid it won't work.... 😂
Could become a rather boring game - a dull pastime... 🫣
Quördel and Wördel! There will be no other way than to revive them... 😃 😃 😃
