RE: No Idea? - NO Wördel!

in NO Community4 days ago

Oh, I always check my feed before brushing my teeth. It's actually the most important thing in the whole day. When you skim through something, you open what you want to read later. Isn't that Steem? Following someone because you're interested in their articles? Well, times have definitely changed. But don't worry, you're not the only one I'm surprised about. But - thank you very much for that, really - the only one who says quite honestly that there's obviously no sense in following a user. Then I don't have to be surprised anymore... 😎

Sort:

Oh, I do follow users - it just takes me some time. I don't follow users on a whim. I usually wait until I’ve interacted with someone for a while. I read their articles, observe how they comment on others' posts, and see how they engage with the community. That way, I get a sense of their personality before following.

These days, I just dislike scrolling through my feed because it’s overloaded with resteems from one user, along with posts from the communities I’m subscribed to. Of course, there’s a "hide resteems" button, but I don’t want to use it since one user shares really high-quality content - I’d rather not miss out on that...

Instead, I go directly to a user’s page and read their articles. This way, I can focus on them alone (I have very short attention span!) before moving on to the next. It might seem like a roundabout approach, but I actually find it more enjoyable - scrolling through a user’s page without distractions. Some days I focus only to one user and other days 2 or more. And, when there's nothing else to read, I let my feed surprise me.

For now, I prefer keeping my circle small, focusing on those I know and find interesting 🙂

Thank you for these detailed explanations. It is what it is: everyone has their own style of moving around the platform. The users of the first few hours are slowly dying out. I'll chew on this realization for a while before I agree to rethink things myself.
Gosh, I'm so conservative...

Gosh, I'm so conservative...

Thinking things through thoroughly really does pay off. It took me some time to adopt this approach, as a newcomer I was easily tossed to and fro by every shift in the crowd on this platform.

The users of the first few hours are slowly dying out.

Perhaps they're demotivated by the reality that, more often than not, size matters. Users with small accounts find it hard to be found or grow organically. Despite that, I see steemit as a great place to practice my writing skills while still earning something in return (even if it’s not much 😅)

Definitely not, because that is a factor that has always existed. In fact, it has never been as easy to grow as it is today. Okay, not since today, but since the SC "ruled" with its teams. And the fact that this is more or less a monopoly, for whose attention many users will do anything (in addition to conspicuous ass-kissing, also criminal/fraud) is frustrating. It is pointless to explain how it was "before". Today it is different. That is a fact. And it will stay that way as long as there are only "a handful" of normal users who believe in the power of the community. In any case, very few people who only got to know Steemit after 2020 can understand it.

I guess it is what it is - Steemit is just like real life, with its fair share of good guys, bad guys, and a mix of everything in between. Seems like I’ve got something to chew on, too.

Once again, Word 08 never fails to deliver an engaging dialogue 🙂

Word 08 never fails to deliver an engaging dialogue 🙂

Does that mean you've confiscated word 8 for yourself from now on?
Oh, in that case I always have to come up with something special for word 8... 😁

I wouldn’t say confiscated... but we’re definitely inseparable at this point 😎

😧...I guess there's NO turning back!
