Rio de Janeiro is very known for beaches, but how about spending a day at a Botanic Garden and seeing amazing nature? Buckle up and Let's go!

A day at Botanic Garden | Rio de Janeiro city

Rio de Janeiro has a lot of nature reserves and some tourist attractions on them.

It's good for controlled visitation and helps to preserve and educate people about the importance to preserve our natural beauty.

One of these attractions is the Jardim Botânico or the Botanic Garden.

It has more than 8.000 fauna and flora species in a huge area. It is so huge that is almost impossible to visit all areas in just one day. Or you may try but I doubt you will appreciate all the details.

It has fruit trees, flowers, thematic gardens, Amazon jungle plants, medical plants, and some rare plants preserved and for studying.

Its a place for a walk among nature to enjoy nature and unwind. Get out the daily stress, sit on a bench, and just relax.

In that region, you can find monkeys, lizards, birds, and other specie's that visit there too. Not only the human tourists.

One of the jardim botânico postcards is the palm street, which is surrounded by Imperial Palm trees. In postcard is beautiful but seeing it live mesmerized me.

I'm a big orchids fan, maybe cause it was my grandmother's favorite flower and she teaches me about it. I used to bring her a lot of orchids on my visits. Miss her...

So, it's a must go to the orchidarium. I spend a lot of time there, and it was hot... Reading about all species in exposition, taking photos and lot of them were blowing. Luck me.

After that, we pass by a Japanese garden, which was reopened by a Japanese imperator daughter. Cool right?

Brazil has the biggest Japanese E population outside Japan.

That huge tree is the Samauma. It is beautiful.

You will cross with some statues, water fountains and sculptures around park during your visitation. You can drink pure water from some of the fountain.

You Also will find colonial house that now is the visitation center and a gift shop, that you can find some handcraft from local people for sale.

Also you will find museums, we didn't visit them cause i prefere to stay outside enjoying nature, and it was super hot weather to spend some time inside houses.

The cactus collections is one of the largest collections on brasil.

Also you will find cozy spots for a brunch and cup of coffee. Why not prepare a picnic. Great place for snacks while appreciating the nature sounds while.eating a fresh artesanal Bread

If you are interested you may want to know more at Jardim Botânico website that has good informations and maps so you can find quickly your interest spots.

Now I'm going to let you make this virtual tour with selected pictures i choose to share with you.
