Steemit Learning Challenge-S21W1; Frozen Shoulder"
It feels good to be back again in this new season that has been totally rebranded. This beautiful course caught my attention and of course I decided to give it a shot, since it's something I can personally relate with, it's kinda experiential and I know my two cents would go a long way.
A very big thank to @ashkhan for coming up with this brilliant lesson. Without taking much of your time, let me delve right into the lesson and share my thoughts concerning it. I really do hope you all find my entry interesting. Enjoy friends
Frozen shoulder is more like a medical condition which a person experience when there are complications with his or her shoulder. This complications are as a result of adhesions, joints capsular restrictions and ultimately it could be as a result of aging in the human body, by the time one begins to approach a particular phase of ones life i.e 40 - 60 some of these things begins to surface.
Frozen shoulders actually has types and this classification is based on it cause and severity. We have the primary frozen shoulder and the secondary frozen should. I will do a quick distinction between both, highlighting some of the causes and the effects.
Primary frozen shoulder are mostly caused by some minor things such as unnecessary prolonged engagement of the shoulder region or wrong sleeping posture of which I've been victims before, in those periods, even my neck was affected because I slept the wrong way over night. For this reason the ripple effect includes inflammation and severe joint pain.
Secondary frozen shoulder can be as a result of something more complicated such as osteoarthritis, rheumatiods or accidents, whether domestic or the kind that occurs on the road. Events like this can bring about instant strain on this body part we are dealing with and even others causing inflammation and other other conditions such as muscle strains, thickening and the likes. This makes it difficult for the shoulder to be functional at that point.
Am not actually a medical practitioner but then from the little knowledge I've gotten from this lesson, I would be able to run a little diagnosis to know the condition of a patient if he is actually suffering from a frozen shoulder caused by either a primary or a secondary reason.
The first thing is to observe the reaction of the patient while trying to hold the affected shoulder area, if such patient cringes, then I know there is actually a problem. I would take a step further to check the affected shoulder region to see if there are inflammation of any kind. If there are, it means whatever happens there is something serious to have cause inflammation.
I wouldn't also mind to run a test, of course an X-ray text should come handy here so that I can be sure of my observations and to know if it is not actually beyond what it is. If it's a situation caused by secondary event such as a ghastly motor accident which has brought about fracture in that area then we would have to subject the patient to a very serious medical attention.
It's after we record success in that aspect that we can now start talking about carrying out some physical therapeutical exercises that can aid quick recover of the affected shoulder...of course we would be going deeper into these therapies that are quite effective and less expensive to carry out.
In this section, I am going to be sharing with you all, especially my professor my physical exercise to fix a frozen shoulder. So out of the list of exercises highlighted I decided to go for the three that I have below and also demonstrated how I practiced it.
• Wand shoulder flexion: This is the first I practiced. The goal is to gradually fix and free the muscle around the shoulder area and the biceps connected to it. You do this by holding on to a stick which act as our wand and then move it from a lower region to a upper region slowly and steadily. The video below would guide you.
• Cross body stretch: This is also an attempt to proffer solution to a numb and thickened shoulder that is less functional. One of your arm is crossed towards the other side of your shoulder and then the other arm supports it from below and then you gradually move it back and forth while maintaining your static position to make the exercise effective.
• Shoulder Circle: This is the last exercise I took and its also very effect in freeing a frozen shoulder. You do this by shrugging the shoulder in a circular manner both clockwise and anticlockwise for effectiveness. Below is a video showing the exercise.
I really do hope I carried out this exercise perfectly the way our professor had taught us to. Anyways, I would be waiting for his feedback.
I felt free of body stiffness around that region, the good thing about this whole exercise is that it's cost effective and very easy to carry out and practiced at home for quick recovery especially for those with severe shoulder conditions. Another Important thing to mention is that these exercise just like every other body exercise makes the body fit and allow the free flow of blood in that area and the body as a whole.
The fact that we can carry out these things without having to spend a dime is really worth commending. Thanks for bringing this lesson to us this week.
Just before I go, I would love to invite @radleking @m-fdo @drhira.

Thank you for understanding the lesson and sharing your assignment; I hope that you will enjoy this week's lesson and try to implement it in your life if you see any such case.
Observations
Task 1 (2.8/3)
Even though you didn't belong to medical field but still you try your best to learn from this lesson and write this participation. You have share a good knowledge about this lesson but still it's phases and stages are missing. I appreciate your effort.
Task 2 (2/3)
In the second question, you write only X ray to evaluate the frozen shoulder, there are other investigation tests like CT scan, MRI and special tests like speed test, yergason test, and many more. The good thing is you add that if there is inflammation it could be more damaging. You answer this question well but still need a bit more depth. Better.
Task 3 (4/4)
You try the wand shoulder flexion, shoulder circles and cross body stretch in a good way. I like that you try all the exercises better. Remember always apply heating pad before performing these exercises. I appreciate your efforts.
Overall you made a good attempt to answer all the questions except question 2. Better try next time. I appreciate your efforts. But next time try to avoid the above written suggestions. Keep learning and try to implement your knowledge to the people suffering from any shoulder pathology. Thank you.

Your methods and videos for frozen shoulder and treatment are really inspiring. Encourage everyone to try. Good luck for the contest.
Thank you so much for the awesome feedback.
