The Diary Game | 31st of August 2024 | ♥ It's my Birth Day ♥

It is Saturday, 31st of August.

I woke up a little older. I can't believe how fast time is moving. My husband wished me a happy birthday early in the morning. With his wishes, I started my day wonderfully by taking an opportunity to go on an early morning walk before the little one woke up. I have always wanted to take better care of my health by doing some exercises in the morning, and I think it's a good start for my day. Sometimes, it is always a great idea to try out new things that we fear of starting.

After my morning walk, I returned home feeling refreshed and relaxed. I decided to have a Coffee with my husband before our baby woke up. I love to have slow mornings and quiet moments to share and reflect on our lives. It was great to spend some time together after a long busy week of work.

As we sipped our Coffee, we made plans for the day. Since it was my birthday, my husband wanted to take me out for lunch at one of my favorite restaurants in Haputhale (A small town in Badulla district. This town is situated at an elevation of about 4690 feet above sea level offering a view that extends as far as the southern coast of Sri Lanka on clear days without mist). After leisurely enjoying our Coffee, I made a simple but satisfying breakfast. We had our meal, got ready completing our other chores before heading out for lunch.

When we started the journey, it was drizzling, and the environment was cold and serene. The rain added beauty to the cold, misty mountains, making me feel calm and peaceful. I enjoyed the breathtaking views of the mountains by the side of the street. The chilling wind made it a whole new experience and a birthday to remember.

This is the first birthday I'm spending apart from my parents. I miss them dearly, and as I reminisced about how things have changed lately, we got closer to the restaurant. The weather made me really hungry, and I was craving a delicious meal. We chose a table where we could be comfortable and enjoy the surroundings. We ordered our meal and enjoyed each other's company until our little Vihan woke up from his nap. The food was delicious, and the wonderful time we spent together made my birthday truly special.

We had our desserts in the car, enjoying the mesmerizing views of the mountains. After lunch, we spent some time at a viewpoint and had the chance to get some fresh vegetables like cherry tomatoes, a bunch of red radishes, and some beautifully fresh coriander leaves. The soft pitter-patter of raindrops against the car window made our drive feel cozier. The view outside my window looked like a painting with lush greenery and mist-covered mountains. We simply enjoyed being in the moment together.

Eventually, we made our way back home feeling contented and fulfilled. The rest of the evening was spent peacefully watching our favorite TV shows. I made a simple dinner with the fresh vegetables that we bought. I made a salad that included cherry tomatoes. It was sweet and juicy, little Vihan loved it.

As the day came to an end, I felt so grateful for the lovely moments that just the three of us had. Though I missed my parents, I'm sure, they will be happy to know how my husband made it a beautiful day surrounded by love and warmth. I shared all my whereabouts with my parents and ended my day with a heartful gratitude for all the meaningful moments we had.
