This picture is from yesterday evening, I went with my family to attend my niece's wedding. There are many traditional rituals in the weddings of our country.

I know that the organizers of this competition are from my neighboring country and their social customs are also not very different from the customs of my country. In this picture, my niece's haldi ritual is taking place. It is believed that according to astrology, Jupiter is considered to be the factor of marriage and marital relations.

For this reason, applying haldi [turmeric powder] to the bride and groom before marriage always leads to a happy married life. Also, applying haldi also keeps negative energies away. The auspiciousness of haldi and its color brings prosperity in the life of the couple.

In this rasam, close friends and family members of the bride or groom stand in a queue to apply haldi to the bride or groom. Gradually this ritual becomes fun and everyone starts applying haldi to each other.

Then after this ritual, the bride and groom take a ceremonial bath. This ritual also makes the bride or groom's body glow and purifies them naturally before the wedding.

Around 200 men and women had gathered for my niece's haldi ceremony. Most of the men were dressed in yellow and the women and girls were also dressed in yellow and golden.

All the girls and women were wearing maang tika and symbolic bangles on their hands. This maang tika is worn by married women for the prosperity of their happy married life and girls are worn as a blessing for their upcoming marriage.

This is an emotional and extremely exciting ritual, especially the bride's side is very emotional in this ritual.
