Prove yourself as the best artist for the week

Good day steemians, I have come today to present a very wonderful drawing of mine in steemit, I used to post my drawings in steemit every week few years ago. I thank @dequeen for still creating this contest and this is the 10th week of it.

I successfully drew a basketball, it's net and the board of the stand yesterday. If you look at the drawing very well you will notice that the basketball was thrown by someone and is about to enter the net. I drew it in a black and white form and I still love it that way. I enjoy playing basketball and I really wish I can play it every week, is impossible for now because basketball courts aren't around my neighborhood.

Materials Used

My materials for this drawing isn't difficult to afford as they are always available at home although the last one I will mention is about to finish 🥶

• A4 paper

Step 1

After I made sure all my materials were set and ready, I placed my A4 paper on top my exercise book on the table and picked up my pencil, glanced at the picture I was checking to draw the basketball and then discovered where to begin from.

I started by drawing the rim which is the round surface of the basketball net where the ropes ate tied. It wasn't easy for me but at least I tried my best and after that I shaded it and drew a basketball on top of it.

Step 2

I looked at the net and got more confused, I was trying to understand where to start from. It was my first time in drawing a basketball net. The way the net is tied, doesn't look easy at all, is so organized and neat.

Anyway I made a sketch by the left and right side of the rim and started drawing lines in it then after doing that I used the pencil to make dots at the edge of most ties in the net.

Step 3

I drew the board next, that part wasn't easy too, I took my ruler and drew some lines. Ofcourse you and I know that when we hear someone drawing a board, they must make use of a ruler so that their drawing will be straight.

I shaded the inner part of the lines smoothly then I looked at it properly to know if I was making any mistake, then I drew something else that's connects the net to the board. After that I shaded it and continued.

Step 4

I drew a square in the center of the board too, most basketball net board has a box at the center, I believe that box is used for making something like the center of the net.

Most players throw the ball gently to that square at the center of the box and the basketball enters directly inside the net, that's two points for them. This made me believe that the square is also used to target the center of the net perfectly.

Duration of Drawing

I took alot of time drawing it yesterday evening, I was trying my best to ensure that I don't make any mistake or forget to do anything. I know I spent up to 30 minutes in drawing this, you might think is easy because of the way it is, the net was more stressful because I had to do some calculations with my brain in other to perfectly draw it.
