Prove yourself as the best artist for the week
Drawing is fun and it keeps me tense sometimes especially when am drawing something complex. I remember drawing alot of complex things in my biology exercise book back then in senior high school. This morning I was pondering on what I will draw until I saw a very impressive picture in my phone that has a deep meaning and I will talk about it at the ending of the post so let's check out the steps now.
Materials Needed
My materials for this drawing isn't difficult to afford as they are always available at home although the last one I will mention is about to finish 🥶 and this is why I mostly draw with the half part of an A4 paper.
- Pencil
- Eraser
- A4 paper
Step 1
This was pretty difficult for me as I tried to make a very curve shape glass where fishes are kept, come to think of it, I haven't even see this in real life before. I drew two glass pot and I tried to have an accurate curved shape.
I did what I could and then drew the too of the glass pot. Is just like a clay pot. I was always ready to give it my best and I finished the first step successfully.
Step 2
I drew a fish in the first glass pot, yes just one fish and there can be more than one fish in a glass pot depending on it's size but for this one there's only one fish in a pot.
I was drew a plant inside it and also did similar things to the second pot. So what do you observe? From my own observation I will say the fish in the second pot is bigger than the fish in the first pot a bit.
Step 3
I shaded the plant in the two pots and also the button of the pots, the plant is green and I just decided to do drawing and shading instead of drawing and colouring.
I made series of dots in the two pots which is the water in the pots. Another observation friends, check it properly and you will notice that the second pot has lesser water than the first pot, in their content. You are curious? I will tell you the reason for that.
Step 4
Final stage should make you understand what this picture is trying to tell us. There's nothing much in this stage though it will give us a clearer understanding of the picture.
In this stage I drew a long pipe that's inside the second glass pot and the pipe is distributing water to the first glass pot.
Duration of Drawing
Like I said I tried my best and while trying my best I took alot of time especially in the first step. You know in life the beginning is mostly difficult and is up to us to give up or not. I think I spent up to 25 minutes drawing this little thing.
MY INSPIRATION for this drawing was gotten from a picture I saved in my phone which I got from Facebook few days ago and this picture has a caption which says Don't lose yourself in the process of caring for others. Don't overdo it as if you don't need any care to give to yourself.
What does this mean? It means that when helping someone we shouldn't overdo it or we shouldn't displease ourselves just to please someone. Look at the second pot, the water is reading and this is a big disadvantage to the big fish in it The fish gave alot of water to the first fish in the first pot which isn't good.
About drawing good curves, I did technical drawing and engineering drawing. We used French curves to get close to perfect curves, but without a French curve or flexible ruler, we made use of a flexible broomstick. We had to bend it such that it connects a minimum of 3 points along the path of the curve, then draw along the curvature of the broom to get a realistically good curve.
A closer look at the picture should give you a better idea of what I am explaining.

Yup I did technical drawing in my first year in senior high school. The subject isn't an easy one at all. One need to be very focused to make neat works on A4 papers.
I remember those days when I was always taking A4 papers from my dad on Fridays before going to school. Is a nice subject too but I didn't continue it in my second year since I wasn't an engineering student.
I get your point entirely, my mission was to make a freehand sketch drawing, I didn't want to use anything other than my pencil and eraser. Thanks alot for your contribution.

Saludos amigo gracias por la invitación. Te quedo muy lindo el dibujo y mas aun su mensaje debemos ayudar si pero debemos saber como ayudar y hasta donde llegar. Te deseo mucho éxito.
Good to hear that you are ok with the invitation. Yup I took my precious time to draw this, I actually felt like drawing something today.
Definitely is very necessary to help people when we are capable of doing so but our rate of help should have limits so that we don't harm ourselves.
Que bueno a mi me encanta dibujar aprendí desde muy niña.
Impressive, alot of us started drawing since when we were little. I remember how I was curious to draw alot of things I do come across with and most times I draw them perfectly. I had classmates who were very good in drawing and I always admire their drawings, sometimes they do draw animated characters.
