SFS Contest Picture of the Day Week 38

I met Lina a very adorable little girl when I went to the hospital with my grandmother for her check-up. Her bed number was 38 and she was admitted to the same ward as my grandmother. Lina's eyes were sparkling and her face was quite innocent. I couldn't help talking to her because she looked so adorable. Her mother sat next to her and held her hand tenderly. Although there was some noise in the hospital Lina remained composed and didn't cry as much as other little children.I take this picture when she was ready to go to operation theater.

Unfortunately Lina had a foot issue from birth even at the age of two. She was unable to walk like other kids because her feet were not straight. Doctors stated she needed surgery to repair the problem according to her mother. When I saw them that day they were getting ready for her surgery. Before the procedure I snapped a photo of her. Despite her early age she exuded beauty and bravery.

Her mother was a good-hearted slightly anxious but optimistic woman. She talked about how hard it was to watch her daughter struggle to walk. Nevertheless she was confident that the procedure would enable Lina to walk like other kids. Her toys were kept next to her pillow and Lina was dressed in a tiny pink frock. She received really kind treatment from the doctors and staff. She had a lovely smile and spoke quietly so it looked like everyone in the ward liked her.

I became a little teary-eyed when it came time to take her to the operating room. I fervently prayed that her operation would be successful. Her mother said she thought good people's prayers always helped and thanked me for the nice comments. I was really moved by my little encounter with Lina. It made me realize how resilient even young toddlers can be. I hope she recovers quickly and resumes her typical childhood activities of playing and running. I will never forget her charming smile.
