Stories, learnings and reflection #02/( A lesson I learned from my mother)
Hello, my wonderful Steemians and my beautiful friends; how are you all doing? I will be sharing my entry in this contest that says Stories, learnings, and Reflection by @alexanderpeace.
Tell us the incident that happened to you or others or that you heard
My mum called all my siblings one faithful day and said that she wanted to tell us a story that would help us in the future.
And she said this: this story I am about to tell concerns each and every one of you here but especially to you mercy bliss that will soon go to the university.
I said to her okay, ma.
She started the story
She started telling the story by telling us that this was a true life story of her and her friend in the university and that we should pay attention because she would ask us questions when she was done telling the story.
The story begins; I had a friend who I met at the university; her name is Blessings; blessings was a girl that everyone in my school always liked to make friends with because she was very beautiful, intelligent, and she had respect too.
She was doing very well in the university; she passed all her courses without giving any lecture money to pass her.
This good character continues to her second-year first semester in the university.
Blessings, knowing fully well that she is very beautiful and at the same intelligent, started carrying herself up, and she also stopped going to class because she believed that whether she attended a class or not, she would still pass as usual, not knowing that 100level question and 300l question is not always the same.
Blessings started keeping bad friends that always go out at night, and they don't care to read their books.
And there is an adage that says show me your friend and I will tell you who you are.
I was enjoying the story, before my mother asked if we had any questions so far, before she will go ahead to complete the story.
I said yes; I now asked my mum, When Blessings started following bad friends, didn't you advise her as a friend to stop following bad friends?
My mum smiled and said to me, my daughter you asked a very nice question, but there is an adage that says, a fly that what to die will never hear "don't go there" so I called her one day to give her a piece of advice as her best friend, but she refused to listen to me, the next thing I will hear from her is that she don't what me to be her friend again.
Then she said to me, mercy hope I have answered your question, I said yes.
Then the story continues; blessings continue her bad attitude and unserious about her education till her final year.
The day she had her last pepper, she was caught doing an examination Malpractice; the school doesn't accept that.
They asked her to Stand up and go and fill out the malpractice form; she started crying, and the next day, her name came out that she had been expelled from the school.
When Blessings heard that she had been expelled, she felt so bitter, then she said to herself, if I had known, I would listen to my best friend's advice to take my studies very seriously.
What I learned from this story
When my mum said that this story concerned me more, I thought she was joking, but after hearing the story, I understood the reason she said so.
I learned a lot from this story; the first thing I learned is that I should be careful about the type of friends I keep, and I should also know that not all that glitters are gold.
I really enjoyed this story so much because I was going back to school because I was just been admitted to the university. And a lot of things will be happening, so she tells us this story to let us know what is happening in the university.
When I got to the school, I tried everything thing possible, to keep friends that will not influence me bad, but insist learn good things from them.
Thanks for reading my post
I want to invite @simonnwigwe, @josepha, and @bonaventure24 to also join this contest
