The darkness of the night gives way to morning, but in the lives of some people, the light of day also brings darkness. Today I will tell you one such real story, which may touch your heart.

The boy from the tea shop Every morning on my way to work, I take a cup of tea from the small tea shop on the corner of the road. The owner of the shop is Karim Kaka, aged around fifty. He has been running this shop for several years. But for some time now, I have been seeing a little boy working in the shop. He must be ten or twelve years old, skinny, wearing a dirty shirt and torn pants. Holding a glass tray in his hand, he is running towards the customers.

One day when he handed me a cup of tea, I asked him, What is your name?

The boy bowed his head and said, "Roni."

I asked him, "Don't you go to school?"

Roni hesitated a little and said, "No brother, my mother is sick, I have a younger sister, no one earns money at home. That's why I work here."

I was shocked. My own son is the same age as him, yet he still goes to school with books and notebooks, plays sports, and Roni is standing here washing glasses and making tea!

A lost childhood I learned from Karim uncle that Roni's father died in a road accident a few years ago. His mother used to work in people's homes, but now she is sick and bedridden. Roni was forced to work in this shop to support the family. He earns 100-150 taka a day, with which he somehow manages their small family.

I thought, while our children sit at school with books and notebooks, how many Abirs are being lost in the struggle for life!

That evening, I went home and hugged my son. It seemed to me how unequal life is! Some children grow up carefree, and some children grow up at a young age!

Greetings! @khokonmia, Thank you for being part of the community, participating in our community and sharing your quality content with us. This is indeed a pathetic story. Having to grownup at such a young age. Please when next you are visiting there, take some shirts and pants maybe one or two for him so he doesn’t have to be tattered anymore and you could give him few takas too as tip. Am sure that would do a lot for him and at most make an impression in him that he’s not alone with his struggles and there are still some kind people out there that cares. Bless his little soul.
