It's a new day to learn and reflect.

Greetings and welcome to my blog. If you are yet to read my stories then you are lucky to stumble on this. Today, I will be telling us a story captioned "Kindness never dies". Pardon me if I should go a bit emotional as I will be sharing to us exactly what happened to me while in secondary days.

It was just the beginning of the term and I have left primary school into the secondary school. To those who have read my stories, you all know how life was during this time with I and my siblings due to the death of my mother. On this day, loneliness was my pet name as I roam alone around the school environment without having anyone to talk to. Rather, people kept talking at me from a distance.

I tried to sew my torn shirt and I ensured that my old shoes where polished. Why then was everyone pointing towards me and smiling. Well, truth be told, my shirt was pretty old and my shoes were worn off due to excess polishing. I never let any of these hinder me so I used my old stuffs with pride. At the same time, I felt like disappearing into the air when it becomes so obvious.

During Break period, I went out and sat under a mango tree with my text in my hands pretending to read. Meanwhile, my stomach was making great noise and calling for food as I did not eat that very morning to school. Without any cash on me, I buried my head while pondering on what the evening would offer. During this time, some of my colleagues came around and mocked at me saying "where you not prepared to be in Jss1?"

I shed little tears and walked away only to see a shadow over me and behold, it was one of the boys who moved closer to me upon seeing cry. He apologized and asked why I was sitting alone. I summoned courage and told him how hunger had been disturbing me since in the morning. At this point he smiled and told me "we could share my chips. My mood changed as I happily ate the chips and drank from his bottle.

This was how I happened to meet Daniel. He wasn't from a very rich background nor was he the richest kid in class, but he was one of the kindest people I have met in life. His kindness grew to the point of skipping breakfast at home just to come and share with me in school. From this time, I had someone to defend and save me from some of the bullying I received from unkind classmates.

One day, I asked him, "We do you do all of this for me?" He smiled, "Because I truly understands what it means to lack". He responded. To bring everything in summary, many years passed and we finished secondary school getting ready for higher institution. Luckily a man called Mr Nseno Benjamin offered me a free Jamb.

I got admitted into the University, and Daniel was still battling to gain admission. I called him and scheduled classes with him, taught him deeply and Daniel was able to gain admission. His friends who were at this point "street boys" became jealous of Daniel.

They went closer and ask how he managed to make it only to realize it was all my help. As reported, one of them screamed aloud "In this life life kindness never dies". With what they did to me, none was able to approach me.

At this point, I invited them to my home, sat them down and began to tell them words of motivation on how to be prepared for every moment. One of the words I told them was that Kindness never dies. I forgave them, taught them and currently they are about to write their first exams in the higher institution.

REFLECTIONS

The story teaches us the importance of showing kindness and in the same time teaches forgiveness. Imagine me teaching people who knew they never deserved it. The truth is that, with this kindness of mine, the boys learnt lessons and one of them promised never to take people for granted.

I invite @nsijoro, @ruthjoe, @josepha and @impersonal to tip in their wealth of experience.
