Sweet Home Wall Hanging

	A Glimpse of My Craft

Final Result

^{Today I’m going to share with you a wall hanging I made with the words Sweet Home. I created this paper craft using an old tissue box. Making such a paper craft from a discarded tissue box is really a fun and creative activity.}

Explanation

💒 Step I

^{Take a used paper tissue}

To make this paper cup, I first took a used paper tissue box from our home that was no longer in use.

💒 Step II

Next, I cut the tissue box with scissors. I gave it a quadrilateral shape.

💒 Step III

Then, using my pencil and pencil compass, I drew a circle on the paper. I cut out this circular shape with scissors. After that, I marked two points on either side of the center using a pencil.

💒 Step IV

I wanted to add some pieces to my wall hanging. These paper pieces would look like bricks. To make them, I drew several parallel lines on another piece of the tissue box using a pencil. Then, using scissors, I cut along those parallel lines. After cutting, I got small paper pieces ready.

💒 Step V

	Waiting for a while to dry the glue

Now I wrote Sweet Home in the middle of the circle and drew two small houses on either side of the writing. Then I drew some parallel lines below the “Sweet Home” text on the circular paper. I applied glue on those lines. Next, I placed the small paper pieces onto the glue. I waited about one to two minutes to let it dry a little.

Then I drew more parallel lines above the “Sweet Home” text and applied glue on them again. After that, I added more small paper pieces to those lines.

💒 Step VI

Start to color

Now I was ready to paint my paper craft. I chose my favorite colors for this. I picked red and blue acrylic paint bottles. I mixed these two colors together to create a new shade.

Coloring the upper side

Then, I painted the lower section of the small paper pieces using the new brown shade created by the color combination. After that, I painted the upper section of the small paper pieces.

💒 Step VIII

To make the “Sweet Home” text bolder, I went over it again using a permanent black marker. Then, I colored the two small houses on each side of the Sweet Home text using red and blue.

💒 Step IX

Clay flower

I wanted to add some clay crafts to my wall hanging. For this, I brought out my clay packets. First, I created a round shape using pink clay. Then I made another round shape using blue clay. I placed the pink round shapes around the blue one to create a flower.

💒 Step X

I made several flowers in this way. Now, I applied glue on the lower left side of my paper craft. Then I attached the flowers I had made onto the glued areas.

💒 Step XI

I wanted to add one more flower, which would be a bit larger in size. For this flower, I took two different colors of clay — one white and one yellow. I made a yellow round center and placed five white petals around it to make a flower. Then I glued this flower on the upper right side of the paper craft.

Next, I made two leaves from green clay and glued them on each side of the flower. And just like that, my desired “Sweet Home” wall hanging was complete.
