THE LESSON I LEARNT FROM THE ON GOING AFCON....( ESPECIALLY FROM NIGERIAN SODIQ)
I never gave up on the guys because I believe the coach must have carefully selected his team for that particular match.... As the match started Nigerian boys as they did against Egypt and Sudan was impressively kicking the ball round the pitch and creating good chances, but to my greatest disappointment Sodiq was just spoiling all the creative genius of the likes of Nwakali, Iheanacho and Ndidi. I personally gave up on him and am very sure most Nigerian fans did, it was as though we were playing the game without a striker. As the game went on I just believed somewhere in my heart that he will be substituted after halftime, but to my greatest surprise he was still among our team player for the second half.
As the half progressed Nigeria found the back of the net and to my greatest surprise it was the same Sodiq whom I had given up on that gave us the goal....
THE LESSONS I LEARNT FROM THE GAME
- It is not good to conclude on people before the time of conclusion. Don't write anybody off, because that person may become your helper tomorrow
- . Don't allow what people say or think about you influence your decision and pursuit in life. Am sure if Sodiq had listened to all the down casting comments Nigerians made about him, he wouldn't have scored that goal.
- Try to encourage people especially when they are at their worst state. I believe the Nigerian coach encouraged him and made him see reason to continue the match.
- Finally I want to personally encourage you that is reading this write up that your best is yet to come. I want you to believe that everything that has happened to you are now at the past, and don't allow your past hurt your present and future..
Thanks for taking your time to go through this write up expect more encouraging write up from me....
