Hello dear friends in this wonderful community, I am back after the week 1 in this engagement challenge to take part in the week 2 challenge. This time around, the challenge is about the following:

Write briefly and clearly how you first got to know steemit and why you decided to join the steemit platform.

Write in detail how steemit and steem change your life for the better, both for yourself personally, family, friends or society with the charity activities you do with steem. Doing a steem promo is also part of the kindness you give to others.

How I First Got to Know About Steemit And Why I decided To Join

A day begins a story and a story begins in a day. My journey here in steemit started someday and that day was on 25th July, 2020. Below is the screenshot of how my steemit Journey started

If you read the chats in the screenshots above, you will notice how the conversation started. I was actually the one that chatted up my Christian Brother to introduce a platform to him. That was the day he also told me about steemit. Well, I am such a person that likes to take advantage of opportunities that are presented to me after due consideration.

After his analysis, I didn't waste time to join steemit. He imediately created my account and I started working on my Introduction post which I posted the next day.

I was actually introduced by @focusnow, my fellow country representative for Nigeria. He did his best to encourage me to keep writing just like he has done to others. But the difference is, if you are determined to achieve something, you will have to be determined to go to great lengths to achieve that. There are a lot of strategies that I employed to remain active here in steemit and they are as follows

• Not to touch my earnings but to powerup.
  I joined steemit with a view to earn but I have a savings culture. From the day I was signed up till 6 months later, I didn't touch my earnings but powered them up, in addition to the little steem I bought then and powered up. This culture helped me to remain focused on improving my writing shills instead of focusing on the earnings that brought me. Focusnow will always be the one to calculate how much I have earned and tell me about it but I wasn't interested in hearing them. I counted it as a previllage to be taught in this ecosystem. I kept moving forward.

• Not to look at what others are earning. There is no basis for comparison here in steemit else you will become discouraged. Most steemians from Nigeria then we're earning higher but that was not my problem. Even the ones I earned were all powered up.

These things helped to remain active. I was just publishing like a blind person, unaware of even the way to my wallet, haha 😂.

Why I joined.

I was looking for a platform to earn. So it was basically the earnings that enticed me. To me, it was pretty cool to just publish contents and earn unlike most platforms where you must invest your money and still refer others before you can earn. I really wanted to earn but not to touch the earnings. I am glad that I chatted my mentor up that day. Till date, I am still active and the achievements speak volumes as you can testify.

How Steemit And Steem Has Helped Me And Others Around Me

There is no doubt that steemit and steem have helped me a lot as well as those around me.

° I have Achieved my Aim for joining steemit and am still achieving till date

Earnings brought me into steemit and I found out that it is true. I have earned as I was told. I currently have +41k sp which I earned here in steemit. This is apart from the cashouts I have done as well as the projects I have carried out. I tested my Steemit earnings after 6 months I joined and that gave me great joy. It was like a huge gift to me and that made me to put forth more efforts.

° I started my journey with steemalive community which is a community for steem promotion. With that in mind, I started promoting steem my printing steem t-shirts, jersey, exercise books, cap and fliers for this promotion.

Promotional activities in my city Uyo were all started by me and this has brought a lot of persons into steemit. I started with my family members, today I have a family of steemians and they are @benton3 @fortwis09 @wizzyboy3 and @mafilyn02

Then others were also recruited. I organized a lot of meetups that encouraged and attracted steemians both old and new

A lot of steemians benefited from the trainings I organized, steemians like @eliany, @goodybest @udyliciouz @estyfashion and others.

The above are just few of the activities that I carried out to encourage steemians to remain active here in steemit.

With the increase in the number of steemians in my city, there arose a need to have an office so that there will be a presence and steemians can have a place to refer their recruits for further explanations since most were new and even some old steemians needed more guidience. I paid for and furnished my one room office solely for steemit 11 Ediye Samuel Street off 4 lane traffic light opposite Enistores Uyo Akwaibom State where I receive steemians from time to time and educate them about steemit.

I also organize promotional activities including football games with steemit jersey that I printed in my city where I sponsor our transportation and refreshments in most cases.

Charity projects

I have taken part in different charity projects. Steemwomens club community has used me to reach out to so many families and kids in need and I made sure that I carry them out to the later.

You can see some of the families and kids that benefited from the womenclubchrity through me where I delivered cash aid, school uniforms, bags and shoes.

In addition to that, steemit Philippines community also used me to give food aids to 5 beneficiaries
